Census in England
A census is a process of systematically obtaining and recording info on the members of a, particularly given population. Census is mostly used in regards to housing census and national population; other types of statistics include business, traditional culture, and agriculture, traffic, and supplies censuses. In England, there is a regular census that is always carried out every ten years from 1801. In the U.K., they have a Census Act of 1920 that lays down the legal framework for carrying out all census in Great Britain which consists of England, Wales and Scotland.
The census data of England is found in Website that is sponsored by the government known as the Office of National Statistics. The Office of National Statistics is in charge of collecting and publishing statistics relating to population, economy, and the community of England. The Website is funded by the government and receives an annual budget of 206.5 million pounds in the 2009-2010 fiscal year.
The information on the government’s Website is found in English. This is because it is the national language that is used in England. Additionally, Census data can be found on a website that belongs to an international organization. For example, the World Bank has a site on the United Kingdom’s census data which includes the info on England. One can also get England’s census data through the Website of the United Nations. Also, this data can be found on a website by the International Monetary Fund.
The most recent data that I can find is an update by U.N. in 2019. The data is detailed enough where it entails of four categories that include infrastructure and environment indicators, social indicators, economic indicators and the general info. The public info has types such as population, the capital city, pop: density, national currency, among others. The economic indicators include the current GDP, growth rate, employment rates, balance of payment, and imports, among others. The info is detailed enough as it has a comparison of 2005, 2010 and 2019.
According to the info on both the national and the international organization’s websites the last census was carried out in 2011. They all agree that the total population of England as of 2011 was 53 million. It would make a lot of difference of there was a difference in Census data between a government’s site from that of an International organization. Census needs to be accurate as it is used to perform the proper planning. It entails information such as income, housing, sanitation, among others. When there is different data on the same issue, it would be hard to plan on things that matter most on a country. The international community would also not feel safe to trade, invest and even live in a country as it seems that there is something they are hiding.
Post B
The value of my county’s in 2017 was $3995B, which made it the 10th biggest exporter globally. The country’s exports are car with a percentage of 11%, which is equivalent to $45B. The second-largest export is packaged medicaments which adds to 4.7% an equivalent of $18.4B. The third biggest shipping is in crude petroleum with a value of $18.4B, which is 3.7% of its total exports. My country exported the most significant percentage to the United States with a rate of 11%, which has a monetary value of $45.2B.
In 2018 the total imports of my country from the United States was $63.4B. The top three imports from the United States were nuclear reactors, boilers and machinery worth $18.4, followed by pearls, metals, coins and boilers worth $ 7.9 and lastly oils, mineral fuels and distillation worth $6.1B. England is importing thee particular goods mostly for consumption and trade. Nuclear reactors from the U.S. are known to be the best and tha is why England are introducing them. England net imports oil and then imports it and therefore makes money from the trade. The Country of Origin Effect would mostly apply to machinery, boilers and nuclear reactors as the U.S. is known for having the best products around the world.
In 2018, England exported products worth $66.0B to United Stated. The top three exports include pharmaceutical products in position three, which was worth $6.6B. The second-largest commodity to export to the U.S. was vehicles worth $11.0 B. the highest product imported to the U.S. was nuclear reactors, boilers and machinery worth $11.8B. Cars from England are trusted as they have the best brands such as Toyota, Honda and Nissan. Us would imports pharmaceutical products from England as their pharmaceutical sector is highly valued. Lastly, England exports its machinery to the U.S. due to England having a small market as the machinery output is high. The Country of Origin Effect would mostly apply to vehicles as people believe and trust the types of Brands that are made in England and the U.K. at large.
