Coronavirus is severely affecting the world; all Muslim brothers are advised to adopt safety precautions. Here are a few pieces of advice you should follow
- Keep yourself inside your home and only your home when its a medical emergency or you need food.
- Avoid shaking hands instead of this; say “salam.”
- Continue washing hands throughout the days, especially if you have touched anything in the market or you have used ATM.
- While you are out, you must carry hand sanitizers and wipes
- If you go outside you must change clothes or jackets that you were wearing as a virus can live on jackets, you should wash your clothes and jackets with antibacterial products
- Strictly avoid public gatherings
- Wear facemasks while going out
- Cover your mouth with a tissue while coughing or sneezing
- Keep special care of elders and kids, don’t let them go outside. Kids, pregnant ladies, and adults older than 60 are at high risk.

Steps taken by Masjids
On 16th March 2020, it is decided that due to a significant rise in coronavirus cases, mosques will remain during all prayers, including Friday prayer until further notice. You should keep offering prayers at home.
The Muslim Council of Britain has requested to suspend all activates. All Masjids will remain closed. There is a great chance of infection in a public gathering. Therefore, you have to offer Friday prayers at home. The British Islamic Medical Association has said that it is unsafe and harmful and unsafe to keep doing activities as usual.
United Kingdom government has requested to close Masjids and stop congregational activates, however weddings and funerals may still go ahead.
