Jeremiah was born and grew up in the village of Anathoth, a few miles from the Near east of Jerusalem in the territory of Benjamin, and he was from a priestly family. He learned some of the traditions of his people, especially that of prophet Jeremiah in his childhood. He was the son of Hilkiah, a Levitical priest, and he was born between 650and 645 B.C.it was through Jeremiah’s childhood training for holy service in the priesthood that God began grooming him for his future role. Jeremiah was called by GOD when he was still a youth, and it was in the 13th year of king Josiah of Judah. God had already set for his prophetic call before he was even born in order to take God’s words to all Israel and to the nations.
Consequently, God gave Jeremiah the overview of the prophetic ministry;” Behold I have put my words in your mouth .see, I have this day set over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out and to pull down, to destroy and to throw down, to build and to plant.” This statement means that Jeremiah was appointed to proclaim the destruction and building of nations that would eventually lead to the kingdom of God.
He served as one of God’s prophets through the rule of five kings of Judah Josiah, Jehoahaz, Jehoiakim, Jehoiachin, and Zedekiah. During the time of Jerusalem’s destruction by the Babylonians,Jeremiah continued to plead God. He continued with his ministry for over 40years, during which he wrote both Jeremiah and lamentations. During the restoration of God’s covenant, Jeremiah grew up in a generation that saw the destruction of the pagan high places of worship i.e., altars, pillars, images, and some shrines that dated back to King Solomon. Judas king Josiah was 21years old, at the start of Jeremiah’s prophetic ministry
The missing book of the law was found hidden in the temple in Jerusalem after 5years. Jeremiah committed himself in preaching the words of that covenant to the people in Jerusalem and all over Judah.it was in the same year when the festival of God was neglected, and it was observed by the nation again. Jeremiah experienced many challenges during his prophetic ministry. Jeremiah was called to lead the nation in a great reform from the widespread idolatry promoted by his father, Amon, and his grandfather, Manasseh. He was later appointed to reveal the sins of the people and the grave consequences of ignoring them. Tragedy came when Josiah died, but Jeremiah was among those who had hoped for a permanent spiritual revival.
It was in this period where Josiah’s reforms could not be preserved from God’s punishment because the sins of Manasseh had become so deeply embedded, and this would n0w come upon the nation for the sins of people. Jeremiah was told to announce Jerusalem’s coming destruction by invaders from the North. God’s people had broken their covenant with God by worshipping the false gods called Baals. They also build altars to Baals in order to burn their children as an offering.
Jeremiah announced the sins 0f people, including idolatry, oppressing of foreigners, adultery, lying, slander, and sabbath breaking. He later exposed the effects of sins. He told them that God would withdraw his blessings. The nation will be punished by the use of famine and starvation, they will be plundered by the invaders, and they will be taken captive into a foreign land. The fulfillment of God’s warnings of the disaster was witnessed by Jeremiah and shared in the sorrow and troubles that will follow the destructions of Jerusalem lived in Jerusalem, where he experienced all the terrible, that is witnessing its siege and destruction at the hands of Babylonians. Jeremiah was forbidden by God from taking a wife during the ministry but later spared.
Jeremiah’s early message to the people’s wee condemnations of them for their false worship and social injustice, with the summons to repentance. He proclaimed the coming of the foe from the North, which symbolizes boiling pot facing from North in one of his visions, that would cause great destruction. The significance of this parable was that the pot denotes a people whom falsities have taken possession of the North. The sound of the prophet Jeremiah sounds of joy and gladness.
Jeremiah was sent by God to deliver a message to his people that they should return to God, and the other message was God’s impending judgment upon Judah. However, even though the punishment was really coming, God also gave them hope of restoration in the future messianic kingdom. God revealed plans that he would protect the Jewish exiles during their stay in Babylon, and he will cause them to return to Judah after some time that was before Judah was destroyed. God was also willing to spare and bless the nations if and only they repented their sins.
Consequently, Jeremiah gave hopes for God’s people through the time of the Babylonian captivity and beyond. God will bring a remnant back to Israel a second time and would reunite the northern and southern kingdoms of Israel together as a unified people in the kingdom of God.God will also heal the spiritual wounds of his people, restore his covenant with them, and build up and plant his people’s Israel again. God told the people of Judah that he knew the plans he thought toward them, the thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give them future and a hope and that if they repent their sins and call upon him, he will restore and listen to them and that he shall always be their God.
If Jeremiah was still alive today and living in America, he would have taught people to rely on God every moment. He would have taught them that their Creator has as a definite plan and purpose for the salvation of mankind. God always has thoughts and thinks towards them and to give them future and hope. God is no different today, and he has not changed. God always responds to genuine repentance and a willingness to be corrected with his abundant blessings. Jeremiah could have proved them that God is always ready for them, and anytime they call upon him, and he will answer and show them great and mighty things.
The second thing is that Americans would have been taught the need for national reformation. Jeremiah’s day is reminiscent of our own modern age. Americans should obey God as their master key. They should worship God and avoid worshipping idols. From Jeremiah’s prophecy, we found that national calamity came upon Judah of their many sins. People ignored the commandments by stealing, adultery, and lying. People should respect and obey God to avoid punishment.
Another thing Jeremiah could have done to Americans is to teach them the Gains from God’s favor. God called us national and personal repentance. If the people do not heed from divine warnings and repent, one can develop a personal relationship with their God and turn their lives around. god always corrects with justice and not in your anger. Americans should always pray without ceasing to avoid punishment from God. God always saves his people if and only if they repent their sins and utters that Jesus is Lord.
Generally, the other view Jeremiah could have done to know the importance of God. People should learn to trust God with the positive outcome of his many sore trials. No matter what happens to them, God is in control. And he will always remain to be our Creator. God always bless the man who trusts the LordLord and whose hope is the lords. People should learn to subject their limited human outlook on life and submit it to God’s divine perspective. God is always there for his people. We should leave our burdens to God, and everything will be established, and their paths will always be straight.
Finally, Jeremiah could have preached God’s word and teach them to avoid false worship. They should not worship idols but rather worship God. They should be able to know that God can punish them if they do against his will. ThoughGod is always merciful, and he can restore them and forgive them if and only if they do repent and believe in God. Jeremiah could have taken an important role in teaching Americans how to pray and help them destroy all other forms of idols. They should also learn that they can receive answers to specific prayers. The landlord will always influence our thoughts, words, and actions, even when we have not sought specific directions.
In conclusion, we have learned that Jeremiah played an important role in restoring God’s people. God can forgive his people if they repent when they sin. When we face diversity and think we have been abandoned by God, He will bless us with the strength to learn the important lessons of life. God always has good thoughts for us, the thoughts of the future, and hope. God always bless the man who trusts the LordLord and whose hope is the lords. People should learn to subject their limited human outlook on life and submit perspective. God is always there for his people to God’s divine
