The two provisions from the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics include nurse practices and collaboration. The nurse practices are carried out with both respect and compassion. Also, it encompasses the unique, inherited dignity and worth attributes of each individual. For the nurse collaboration provision, it consists of the nurses teaming up with other professionals and the public. The team works towards achieving its goals of stimulating health diplomacy, decrease health inconsistencies, and secure human rights.
The nurse practices provision influences my professional nursing practices. I have to be not only compassionate but also a respectful nurse to my close relative. Thus, I should be able to reserve their worth and dignity in the precise defenseless position they feel they are in as they prepare for surgery (American Nursing Association, 2018). Also, the nurse collaboration provision influences my professional nursing practice. I have to collaborate with other health care providers to give better services to the patients.
A nursing error that may take place during clinical practice, especially in the operating room, would not identify the patient’s allergies. For the first provision of practice, it contains respect and compassion for the worth, uniqueness, and dignity of each individual. Thus, it can be related to this error by protecting both the respect and dignity of the sick person and the nurse relationship. The second provision consists of nurse collaboration. The pre-op group can list the sick individuals on the chart as a bark up for the operating room nurse. As a result, having a communication loop can prevent allergies from not getting operated.
The four leadership traits representing excellence in nursing include integrity, the ability to handle stress, and critical thinking. Integrity from a leader will help him or her gain trust from the patient, and Initiative helps in getting a nursing work completed. For critical thinking helps in getting the nursing job completed and safe for the sick individual. Finally, the ability to handle stress will enable a nurse to get over a stressful situation.
Leadership requires a successful group environment that needs to cooperate. As a result, they are working towards achieving the aim of promoting health. However, the work environment gets impacted if the nursing leadership does not cooperate with the team. Generally, cooperation from every person is required for a health nursing leadership job environment.
Also, the work environment affects what decision is made. In situations where the work environment is based on encouraging safe care, decision making will also be founded on safe care.
If the work surrounding has a safe, security, professional development, promotes the development, and has a good moral it will be reflected in the employees. Therefore, the kind of environment affects professional growth by educating the employees on what is significant.
