Audiences that are invested in the topic versus audiences not invested in the topic
An audience that is invested in the topic is that who has an understanding of what the topic is all about, while an audience that is not invested in the topic is the one who does not know the topic.
An audience who is invested in the topic will be more interested in any information about the topic. They will even involve themselves in the topic discussion may it be online or verbally. An audience who is not invested in the topic will have little or nothing to do with the subject since they may have no idea of what the topic is all about. The knowledge of whether the audience is invested or not is essential to the writers when crafting his or her message. If the message is intended to the audiences that are invested, the message will be brief as the intended audiences understand what the message is all about with easily. The writer may even use hard terminologies associated with the topic in the messages.
Although when the writer’s message is intended to the audience who are not invested in the topic, the writer will be keen first to make the audience understand the topic; in this case, the writer may first write a brief introduction of the topic. The writer also will be required to use simple language to make the audience get precise information.
On the example of those who used travel advisories message, the message to an audience invested should be brief and direct to the point, but in case the message is received by the audience not interested in traveling, the writer should write an introduction to the message, for example, he or she should explain what travel advisory is and how is it essential to travelers. The writer can even write something that may be fun though not connected to the topic to make the audience curious and pay attention to read the message.
