Decision support system operates at many levels
Discussion question 1
- Decision support system operates at many levels. I had to work for a marketing firm, with the primary function of talking to potential customers and seeking appropriate products according to their preferences. This marketing firm had a built-in software in their system that allowed us to put all these variables in and find something that suited them. Many of these considerations included cost, the delivery of your product, and warranty. The company uses the DSS system to help potential customers make a fast decision.
- An example of the application of business intelligence is the case of HelloFresh. HelloFresh had the problem of the unfortunate timing of digital marketing, which was intensive, manual but had insufficient outcomes. HelloFresh employed a BI solution by the name of “For meal kit company HelloFresh”. Automated reporting processes was the solution, which saved the company more than ten working hours (Tableau, 2020). The solution also helped the marketing team build a regional marketing campaign that was individualized. Consequently, this increased conversion rates and increased client satisfaction were observed.
- Data Science technologies often allow for a progressive level of personalization of healthcare via genetic and genomic research (Upasana, 2020). The aims are recognizing the influence of DNA on our health and establishing personal biological linkages between genetics, infections and drug responses. Data science strategies enable the incorporation of diverse types of genomic information into the analysis of disease, which offers a deeper understanding of genetic problems in drug and illness responses. When we have reliable data on personal genomes, we will achieve a profound knowledge of human DNA. The progressive prediction of genetic threat will represent a significant stride near more personalized care.
Exercise 15
Augmented humanity is one among the leading upcoming technologies. Examples of augmented humans in emerging technology include enhanced intelligence, biotechnology, virtual workspaces, biochips, and personification. It is leading technology that can help us function remotely from anywhere without having to be physically present. Augmented humanity influences every aspect of life, including working, travelling, purchasing and getting in touch with our favourite brands. The amount of time we spent on monotonous manual activities that can be programmed, configured or digitized are drastically shifted.
The development of Graphic User interface (Gui) has impacted how people interrelate with software. Among the crucial drivers, which eradicates the physical layer, and permits the access of information easily is Voice Technology. This has affected the entire ecosystem where brands need to optimize the voice search.
As we become more and more reliant on digital technologies, those interactions will generate a wealth of information. Organizations are continuously seeking ways of making use of our secure individual details to enhance their knowledge of us and reshape perspectives. Significant developments are happening in the wellness health sector, as well as in the banking, insurance and financial services industry, by providing customized programs relied on behavioral knowledge.
Fluid vs Collective advances in digital technology has given rise to two very different realities. On the one hand, we now enjoy more variety in almost everything we consume, with the capability to access it by pressing on a button. As a result, this has a significantly stretched the array of options; we now have the ability to contact in other dynamic, unpredictable means. Consequently, digital technology has also allowed connections with the community, making it easier for us to communicate with likeminded people all over the world.
