False analogy
A false analogy is a form of the informal fallacy which suggest that if two Items (A and B) have a common quality (X), they should also have another common quality (Y). A current example of false analogy is opportunistic scavengers. Most individuals have belittled the finance industry, especially when it comes to short term loans and credits. Such people say that the financial industries are unequally taking advantage of clients since they target persons with poor credit or students. That is entirely not correct. It is like equating credit card organizations with scavengers eating flesh in the desert. The birds of the flesh are doing their survival actions. The profiteering practices of a big bank are actually not the same thing.
Part 2
Indeed, mental illness is regularly treated differently compared to physical health. However, it is sometimes difficult for us to understand why and how mental illness affects our culture. People in my culture have stereotyped opinions on mental illness and its effects on society. They believe that those suffering for mental illness are dangerous and aggressive when they are indeed at higher risk of harming themselves or being attacked. Discrimination and stigma worsen the mental health issues of an individual. It also delays or impedes how these people get treatment and help, as well as their process of recovery. In my culture, mental illness patients are isolated, majorly in poor housing conditions where they are exposed to poverty and other deteriorating conditions. The media exacerbates the situation by portraying people living with mental illness as evil, criminals, dangerous, and unable to live fulfilled and healthy lives.
Information from a long-term wellness list and recognizing the symptoms of mental illness helps in broadening discussions regarding mental illness. Rather than designating the mentally ill as dangerous, evil, and harmful to society, recognizing the symptoms of mental illness is a good starting point in coping with the patients. Besides, it helps in making discussions on mental illness more meaningful, thus avoiding stigmatizing and discrimination. It enables us to get closer to the people experiencing mental illness issues, thus quickening their recovery process.
