Forming Bonds
The success of any bond depends on the ability to communicate well between the two parties involved. I have been able to bond well with other staff members at my workplace because we are capable of understanding each other’s communication techniques. My workplace consists mainly of Philippines whom I have had the chance to interact with for a long period. I’m an active listener, and during my interaction with nannies, who were the Philippines, I learned a lot about their way of life. Therefore the knowledge has helped in forming strong relationships with my staff members.
Another two aspects that are important in forming and maintain strong bonds include boundaries and respect. I have been able to develop good relationships with my co-workers because through my advocacy of teamwork, and I have learned to welcome and respect diverse ideas and input. Either from an instructor or work colleague, I’m always willing to accept ideas that are different from mine. Thus, it has been easy for me to relate with people at work, no matter how different they may seem or act. Relations need two sides who feel comfortable interacting with each other and reassurance that the interaction is based on equality. In my process of forming bonds, I have accepted to teach and learn in a kind manner. The Philippines nannies that I interacted with taught me about caregiving services. We interacted with respect, and I was capable of learning a lot about the Philippines which later helped me in forming strong bonds with my co-workers. My company consist of people who value teamwork because I was capable of instilling good teamwork skills in them.
