ORGANIZATION SYSTEM AND TRANSITIONS AROUND THE WORLD DURING COVID-19 PANDEMIC

Covid-19 denotes a current respiratory disease which is caused by the Coronavirus. The pandemic has significantly hurt the social-economic and political situations across the globe. Moreover, Cobid-19 has significantly affected businesses and organization performance in the entire world. Most of the organizations are suffering from a reduction in profit margin due to the pandemic’s interference. The decline in the profit margin among various organizations is caused by the massive lay-off of the employees by multiple organizations and the distortion of the distribution channels caused by the pandemic. Since the pandemic continues to evolve, most managers and businesses have started to employ various measures to help them regain the normal performance of their organizations. Most of the managers and stakeholders of multiple organizations have begun to shift their attention to efforts that encourage a return to the work. They are addressing various changes and developing necessary strategies that will enable the organizations to run smoothly for the coming months despite the pandemic presence. The paper explores the organizational system change and transition around the world and people during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The organization does not only involve bringing people technologies and processes together; it consists in bringing forth new methodologies, practices, non-conformist attitude, and ideas about excellence. Most organizations are striving hard at ensuring that their organizations attain world-class organizations during the Covid-19 pandemic. Shifting to world-class organizations means that organizations are emphasizing customer service, quality assurance, and control, innovations, workforce planning, and the product or the supply system design (De Caro, Hirschman & Verdonk, 2020). Organizations have introduced the necessary strategies to match world-class organizations during the Covid-19 pandemic. Trying to attain a world-class organization means that organizations will have to develop essential strategies to enhance the performance of their organizations while considering the health of their workers. Additionally, organizations managers are emulating world-class managers’ qualities to help initiate adequate decisions necessary to bring forth new methods of running the organizations despite the presence of the Covid-19 pandemic (De Caro, Hirschman & Verdonk, 2020). They are trying to develop new strategies and plans to overcome the adverse effects that are affecting the businesses due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Leaders of various organizations are being encouraged to formulate strength-based leadership to cater to the wellbeing of businesses and cater to the health of employees working in their organization. Strength-based leadership will enable the leaders to enhance the performance of their organizations by considering the necessary measures to overcome the negative impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic. One of the organization’s transitions being witnessed in the organizations is the remote working. Most of the organizations are shifting to remote working; employees are provided with the necessary technological devices that will enable them to work for the organization from home (Nicola et al., 2020). More innovative leaders are encouraging their employees to work from home to practice social distancing. This is to mitigate the spread of the Covid-19, which is spread through the air. Remote working it an excellent example of the business transformation that has taken place during the pandemic of the Coronavirus, and it works on numerous levels. Remote working helps serve the requirements and the needs of the employees (Nicola et al., 2020). Moreover, remote working has helped the organizations and businesses with adaptive and resilient measures to continue delivering the economic value and engage with their ecosystem during the pandemic. Additionally, remote working plays a significant role in addressing the health of the employees and the broader community by minimizing the close contacts of the employees.

Remote working requires decisiveness and clarity from the organization’s leaders and the senior-most level of a particular organization. Hence, it requires a good leader to make such a decision to put various factors into consideration. Leaders are playing a significant role in ensuring that their employees and other stakeholders commit fully to the remote working strategy to help mitigate the spread of the Covid-19 amongst the employees and to ensure that the productivity of the organization continues to take place (Prasad, Vaidya & Muralidhar, 2020). Organizations are employing the use of technology that is scalable, flexible, and reliable; the organization’s performance does not suffer from the transition. Additionally, borrowing some tactics from the “advantage by Lencioni” and the “Strengths and Leadership by Tom Rath” to help practice excellent management regarding the new transitions being made by the businesses (for instance, the remote working). One of the major strategies employed by the organization’s stakeholders to enhance good performance during the remote working transition is the existence of good communication models (Prasad, Vaidya & Muralidhar, 2020). Leaders need to communicate the working transitions to their employees with employees and help them understand the importance of the transition to the organization and their health during the Covid-19 pandemic. The message needs to be concise, consistent, and clear to enable the employees to understand it with ease.

Moreover, the other transition being witnessed in most of the organizations is the online business. Organizations have moved most of their transactions online to help mitigate the spread of the Covid-19. This is considered an essential strategy since online marketing amongst the organizations has enabled them to mitigate human contact and hence reducing the possible spread of the Cocid-19 (Pane et al., 2018). Additionally, by using online platforms for selling and supplying their commodities, organizations can overcome the product distractions being witnessed due to the occurrence of the Covid-19. Hence, shifting to online marketing can be considered as an essential strategy being made by the organizations to help uphold the health status of the employees while enhancing the organization’s performance. One of the factors being considered by the organizations is the necessary technological tool to apply to ensure that every putting into consideration the employees’ capability of using the technology (Pane et al., 2018).  Organizations need to employ a technological tool that is easy to use by the employees and the other stakeholders running the organization.

Strength-based leadership is another significant factor being embraced by the organizations to counter-attack the effects caused by the Covid-19 in the organizations. For instance, leaders are continually asking for help from their employees on the best ways to ensure the performance of the organizations during the pandemic (Kaufman, 2018). This is a new transition since most leaders could not ask for help from their employees since they thought it a weak decision. Enquiring and embracing the employee’s opinions is significant since it enables the leaders to consider the employees’ health safety while focusing on the organization’s performance. This itself plays a vital role in enhancing the reduction of the spread of Covid-19 among employees and the surrounding community working in the organization.

Remote working and leadership strengths are a significant factor in mitigating the spread and effects of Covid-19 across the globe. Organizations that embrace remote working help ensure the safety of their employees and their families as well. Embracing the remote working by the organizations can have a positive impact on the economic status of the world during this period of Covid-19 (Prasad, Vaidya & Muralidhar, 2020). This is because remote working will ensure that the organization’s activities are being conducted and that organizations continue to make a profit despite the pandemic’s existence. This, in turn, will raise the GDP and National Income of various countries and help mitigate the pandemic’s further spreading. The absence of the remote working by the organizations, on the other hand, can have a detrimental effect on the economic development of the nations across the globe (Prasad, Vaidya & Muralidhar, 2020). This is because it will increase the possibility of the occurrence of the pandemic. The higher the rate of infections will lead to an increase in the mortality rate. This, in turn, will reduce the profit margin being earned by the organizations and hence lower the economic performance of nations across the globe. Thus the principle of remote working is a significant transition strategy being embraced by the organizations.

In conclusion, the Covid-19 pandemic has a detrimental impact on the performance of organizations across the globe. This, in turn, has contributed the organizations to undergo various transitions to enhance the performance of their businesses and uphold the health of their employees. One of the major transitions that are being witnessed among the organizations is the remote working. Organizations are encouraging their employees to work from home to help mitigate the spread of the Covid-19 and help enhance the continuity of their organization’s performance. Additionally, the organization has shifted its transactions online to help uphold the issue of social distance, which is a vital tool towards mitigating the spread of the Covid-19. The existence of such principles amongst the organization plays a crucial role in enhancing the organization’s performance and minimizing the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.
