PAIBOC Analysis

Purpose

Resume and cover letter are both important when applying for a job position. A cover letter is written to inform the employer about the job and why one find it attractive. Its main purpose is to prove to the employer the reason why one should work for that employer. It comprises of the skills and qualities that one plans to bring to the company when offered the job position. The cover letter is designed to convince the employer the suitability of my skills and qualities in his organization. The purpose of the resume is to give a summary of the skills, accomplishments and abilities of a person towards a certain advertised job. A resume markets the strengths of an applicant in a way to capture the attention of the recruiters and the employer. It assists in advertising the applicant so that the employer can have a hint of who he/she is.

Audience

My audience is ArchiBat Human Resource China who will be my employer. The recruiting team is also a target group for my cover letter and the resume because they will be involved in the selection of qualified people. The job owners are Chinese from Shanghai which describes their demographics as Chinese-based. ArchiBat is a firm that provides an excellent and socially conscious architecture to all their clients where they use a vision driven process together with the employees’ talents. The firm also offers other benefits to their employees and excellent compensation which help the employees to work in a progressively designed environment. The psychographics and demographics of the firm are different in the way they accept employees from any corner of the world as long as the employees are ready to comply with the culture of the firm. Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills are the values of the firm which constitutes to its psychographics. Job applications are received in the recruitment office, sorted and the more qualified candidates are contacted for an interview. The applications are first read by the recruitment team.

To attract the audience attention, I have included a mission statement in the cover letter which describes what I plan to do to the firm if they consider my application. The value that I will bring to the employer is also suggested which will attract the attention of the audience.

Information

In my resume, I included information on my achievements, abilities and skills that make me suitable for the job position. Information on my strengths will also be included in the resume which will give the employer an insight of what I can offer for the organization. In the cover letter, I need information on my abilities, skills as well as any testimonial from a company I have worked before. The information in cover letter and resume will complement each other because the resume expounds on the skills and accomplishments that are indicated in the cover letter. The skills and abilities in the cover letter will be supported by the accomplishments and values which will be in the resume. The keywords that I will use in the resume for maximum and immediate positive emphasis include flexible, self-motivated, effective communicator, enthusiastic, ambitious, imaginative, honest, creative and innovative.

Benefits

My strengths include dependability, improved oral and communication skills, ability to work with others, flexible regarding time and location, excellent graphic communication, increased personal responsibilities and knowledge of In-Designing and architecture. These make me the best candidate for the job position as I have most of the required skills and abilities for the position. What I need to emphasize in the resume and cover letter is my oral and written communication skills, flexibility and dependability which are my strong points that will increase chances of getting the job position. I will use a capital letter to emphasize on my strong areas. I will also attach some samples of my work if required by the firm.

Objections

My weakness is that I have not familiarized with led Mixed use and Master Planning, but I am currently taking them as my part-time activities to improve my competencies. I also have a challenge of impatience where I am always eager to get a project completed on time. This means I cannot work with colleagues who are so dependent and less functional as I may not have patience with them. I plan to manage all the projects will be involved in to ensure that all employees are productive and complete the projects quickly. Mastering foreign languages is a challenge to me, but I plan to enrol in a class of several languages to increase my ability to speak different languages.

Context

The context of the application letter will motivate readers to consider my application because the words used to capture their attention and my strengths coincide with the expectations of the company. The company require employees with an interior design degree. The firm aims at providing a socially conscious architecture to all its clients where it will use a vision driven process. The firm also values employees talents, excellent teamwork and collaborative skills.
