PROS AND CONS OF CLOUD-BASED STORAGE
The following are the pros of cloud storage. The first one is that it acts a disaster recovery option as it is widely used to store data and help in the backups of the data as it allows the use of the storage anywhere to be accessible in any time and place. The second one is that the data is accessed anywhere as it is a universal part to store data. The third one is that it lowers the costs that can be used to define the cloud storage. This is better as charges can be incurred when storing the data in banks, making it ineffective (Chaudhary, Kumar & Zeadally, 2017).
The following are also the cons of cloud-based storage. The first one is that there is a lack of control over the data as it is kept by an off-site company which means there was no privacy or control over the data to be used. The second one is that it is difficult to move the data from one server to another. When data is transferred into a server, it becomes hard for the owner to move data from the server to another one. The third one is that it requires the internet to function (Rittinghouse & Ransome, 2016).
