Smoking has detrimental health effects on society. The organization has been on the leading edge in the campaign towards the reduction in tobacco smoking among young people. However, the current financial crisis can lead the organization into desperate measures. For instance, the introduction of electronic cigarettes poses has more health benefits compared to cigarettes. However, the habit of e-smoking among the young generation can serve as a vital contributing factor to smoking. Therefore, arguably, the introduction of electronic cigarettes by the funder can have an overall negative implication on tobacco smoking by the youth in society.
Electronic cigarettes are less harmful than traditional cigarettes. The use of electronic cigarettes reduces the effects caused by carcinogenic components found in conventional cigarettes. However, the vapor from electronic cigarettes contains some nicotine and other cancer-causing ingredients, which compromises the health benefits to the users. Therefore, the introduction of e-cigarettes has less adverse health effects than traditional cigarettes.
Addiction to smoking is a significant concern among the young generation. Hence, any funds provided to the organization should be directed towards the reduction of dependency among the youth. However, electronic smoking is attractive to young people, thus increasing the chances of addiction. Therefore, the use of electronic cigarettes as an alternative to traditional smoking will contribute to an increment in smoking among the youth.
The funding of the organization should seek to reduce the smoking habit among the youths. However, the funder poses a threat to the organization’s efforts by providing an alternative to traditional smoking in the form of e-cigarettes. Arguably, seeking for an alternative source of funding such as the government would help in preventing the risk of addiction among the youths. Therefore, the organization should dismiss the proposal from the electronic cigarettes manufacturer.
