Googles Filter Bubble
I feel that Google can have an impact on our political decisions. This could also lead to us electing leaders whom we would not desire. The article clearly shows that increasing the number of links in the filter bubble for a specific presidential candidate can influence our political decisions (“Duck Duck Go”). People should also note that privacy is not assured when browsing privately. This is because even after switching to incognito, the filter bubbles are not deactivated. The article depicts fairness as they have supported their claims by providing extensive research data. This data shows the research was done well, and every detail about it is correct. It also shows that the writer of this article is not bent on tarnishing Google’s name but rather to inform the users of the privacy of the browsing information.
The article is also convincing as the information conveyed by the writer proves that it was based on research and not mere assumptions. The writer has also portrayed the method he used for research and the findings that resulted. The author is trying to warn and inform people of the deceit from google about the safety of their private browsing data when they switch to incognito. He is also trying to show the audience how google can influence their political stands. After reading this article, i would opt to change my browsing behavior and my search engine too. This is basically because the privacy of my information is not guaranteed even when browsing privately.
