Without Alcohol, The World Would Be a Better Place
It is a sure way to know that humans will be better without alcohol. Alcohol is considered harmful not only to drinkers but to family and society at large. Alcohol is, however, deemed to be more dangerous than a cigarette. This is because unlike alcohol, cigarette smokers only harm themselves but do not cause any negative impact in the society. A single episode of excessive drinking can lead to various body problems, such as chronic diseases and addiction. According to some studies, alcohol is the leading cause of social issues within society.
Globally, alcohol has been estimated to be the leading cause of many accidents. According to some evidence, skills and inhibitions are reduced when alcohol is consumed excessively. This further leads to increased risky behaviors, which would lead to a higher risk of injury, such as accidents. However, if alcohol never existed, accident cases would no longer occur; thus, the world would be considered a better place.
Moreover, much consumption of alcohol leads to addiction. Individuals facing some alcohol addiction lack self-direction in life. The volume and pattern of drinking often affect the productivity of work. This is because heavy drinkers are always in some personal problems relationships that lead to a lack of self-direction, which further leads to lower work performance. Reduced work performance causes significant harm in the businesses, thus causing substantial damage to the economy.
Nevertheless, alcoholism and alcohol abuse has been a problem that has destroyed countless families. Alcoholism is deemed to be the primary cause of many divorces in families. Individuals who drink alcohol are often hampered by the desire to take in excess, thus retreats them from their family duties. In this case, most individuals lack to provide food for their family and further fails in offering health insurance for the family. Besides, alcoholism leads to domestic fights, which leads to divorce and, to severe cases, death to spouses and children. According to some research, most children who come from a family background related to alcoholic people are always at high chances of developing stress and depression. This affects the education of children within society.
Nonetheless, the consumption of excessive alcohol leads to extreme violent behaviors. Most alcoholic people often prioritize alcohol more than anything else in the world. Hence, individuals who earn minimum salary or wages, are at a higher risk of engaging in violent behaviors such as robbery in order to get enough money to purchase alcohol (Glatt 274). However, drunk individuals are often led to drastic decisions only to realize what they have committed after gaining their senses. The majority of people are involved in rape and incest cases without their knowledge. Only to regret later on what they have done. Conversely, peace, and harmony would be experienced if alcohol did not exist.
Eventually, alcoholism has participated in school drop-out among some college students. Students who take alcohol lose concentration with their school work and lack of participation in school projects. This leads to poor performance among students, which results in drop-out cases in school. Alcoholism among students has resulted in lower skills and knowledge in job market places that have led to redundancy in global market prosperity. However, if alcohol were not existing, the global market would be thriving.
In conclusion, alcohol is considered harmful to the lives of people. It has affected society and the economy. Eventually, it has led to crimes, family breakages, and lower productivity.
