Hospitals as a source of infections

Hospitals are recognized as the wellness centers where we receive help and relief from many ailments. However, it is worth noting that the same hospitals may be the places where we get infections. Pathogens found in the materials in hospitals can be transmitted to patients. It is the role of healthcare workers to ensure that hospitals remain the wellness centers and not places where people catch the infection. To prevent these transmissions, healthcare workers can take several steps. First, their hygiene should be maintained a high standard (Totaro, 2016). Washing hands daily and washing their clothes regularly will minimize the spread. Also, they should use disinfectants to clean the surfaces in hospitals and materials used to kill any pathogens. Hospital beds, tables, doors, floors and many of the places that patients are most likely to touch on should be cleaned thoroughly with disinfectants.
