Homosexuality
is a sexual attraction between people of the same gender. Lesbianism is female homosexuality, while gayism is male homosexuality. The word lesbian referred to an island in Greek called lesbos in the 16th century. In the 19th century sapphism was added this was because an association was formed by Sappho who was a lesbian poet. However, most of the lesbians hate to accept their orientation to avoid family and community denial.
On the other hand, a few of these lesbians are very open about their orientation. In the 21st century, continents such as Europe have legalised the lesbianism. Gay was started ny Karoly Maria, who is a German in the 19th century. Most of the whites countries have legalized gay.
Bisexual is a sexual attraction to females and males. The history is in two parts, the traditional and the modern. The meaning of the contemporary bisexual started in the 19th century, also known as pansexuality. Charles Chaddock started conventional history in 1892. In the 1970s, pansexuality extended its roots to the Western part of the world. Bisexual is spreading at a higher rate in all parts of the world.
Transgender is a person whose sex doesn’t align with gender. A good example is when someone is considered male by physical appearance, but he has a female genital. It started in 1910 by Magnus, who was a sexologist in Germany. However, it was later on coined 1996.
In 1990, the two-spirit was started at an international gathering of gays and lesbians. The main reason for generating a new term was because the previous one was outdated.
As same-gender marriages support are increasing day in day out, so are the attitudes towards homosexuality. Most of the people claim that homosexuality should be allowed by the community and a lesbian or gay sexual orientation to be changed close to zero. However, others argue that homosexuality is something one is born with. The fact that an individual’s devout beliefs are in friction with homosexuality it is a powerful element in the defiance of similar gender marriage. This conflict is felt strongly by the white church leaders—five in ten Amish claims that there is a dispute between homosexuality and pious beliefs.
The majority of the Americans claim that you do not have to believe in the Almighty to have excellent values. However, some of the benefits of homosexuals are, honesty though it does not apply to all, consistency, and commitment to their orientation. The attitude towards homosexuality is negative. This is because people are still conservative to their beliefs about homosexuality and sex roles. My feeling towards this is that gays and lesbianism should be stopped because even God himself does not approve it in the Bible.
Despite the various switches that have been recorded by the executive, research continues to reveal that the rate of negativity is high towards bisexuals and all other sexual orientations. Bisexuals usually encounter stigmatization from the homosexual society. Apart from that, it’s challenging to maintain and nature their romantic relationships. As a result of this negativity towards bisexuality, a lot of people avoid getting into a romantic relationship with a bisexual. Some of the beliefs about sexuality are, people are referred to as bisexual due to their sexual behavior, a lot of people consider bisexuals as people who are not interested in serious relationships due to lack of loyalty and that the chances of them contracting the sexually transmitted diseases are high. They are also believed to be experts in sex. Bisexuals have a lot of values, disloyalty, and lack of commitment, inconsistency and freedom. My feeling towards this is that people should try to be loyal partners and build strong relationships instead of wasting their time with several sex partners.
The transgender community is a very complicated. Most people do not accept or introduce themselves as trans genders but instead as male or female. A big percentage of the trans genders transform themselves through surgeries. The attitudes of people towards the trans genders are more non-personal. My feelings towards this is that people should not judge these people because it was not their fault to be born that way. An organization should be formed that will protect transgenders from any kind of discrimination.
A free-spirited individual is one who believes that having numerous sexual partners is not a big deal as it is to society. These people are found to have multiple partners, independent, can quickly contact sexually transmitted illnesses, and can not build a serious and stable relationship. The attitudes towards these people are negative because they do not respect themselves. Some of the values that they possess are disloyalty and inconsistency. My feeling towardsthis is that free-spirited individual should possesss commitment because it will help build their relationships and create respect for themselves.
Sexual orientation is associated with the physical and mental health. Homosexuals suffer from acute mental and physical health as well as bisexuals. Despite it affecting the people involved, it also affects the community at large. Sexual orientation has altered society’s notion of sex. The organization knows that sex should only be between one man and woman. Some of the traditional views on sex have also been broken.
