Argumentative Essay on Caffeine:
Introduction:
Caffeine consumption has numerous adverse effects on both the mind and body. For example, caffeine has been cited as one of the major causes of cardiovascular diseases such as heart attack among other things. Besides, caffeine consumption increases blood pressure by making the blood vessels to contract; hence, making it hard for the system to work effectively. Furthermore, caffeine consumption has been highly attributed to increased diabetes cases as well as the blockage of nerve cells which causes slowness in the transmission of neurotransmitters.
Claim: Caffeine consumption pose significant health risks among its consumers because it causes more than a few health implications such as heart attack, Diabetes among other physiological as well as psychological problems and therefore, there should be limited intake to caffeine to limit its health implications and for a healthier generation.

Caffeine consumption has numerous health implications, and this prompts the need for regulated use of the substance. One of the leading health concerns of caffeine intake is high blood pressure. Clinical research that was recently conducted revealed that people who take an excessive amount of caffeine are susceptible to heart-related diseases such as heart failure among others. People who are constant consumers of caffeine are more vulnerable to hypertension which is caused by a high chemical that is found in coffee which causes increased heartbeat rate. In addition to caffeine causing hypertension, it is believed that it can also cause increased urinating cases due to increased bloodstream to the kidney (De Mejia, et al., p. 98). A god example of urine production can be derived from whenever a person finishes taking a cup of coffee; they are more likely to feel like or the urge to urinate.
Caffeine consumption causes numerous physiological, as well as psychological problems such as Type-2 Diabetes, can have an impact on insulin action. According to research, caffeine intake not only promotes an increase in urine but also, contributes towards wiping out good gut bacteria. There are good and bad bacteria in our body whereby, the good gut bacteria helps the body to fight germs and therefore, by having caffeine intake wipe out the good bacteria then it shows that caffeine is indeed bad for human consumption.
They say one addiction leads to another. Caffeine can be quite addictive, which is why it is not advisable for too much consumption of the substance. Consumption of caffeine can be harmful not only to the physical body but also, to the mind. For example, imperative research has revealed that drinking of over four cups per day is likely to lead to addiction and withdraw symptoms. This will lead to addiction and need or quest for more potent substances such as cigarettes among other elements. Therefore, it is apparent that caffeine intake is terrible because it can lead to addition not only of the substance but also, to other behaviours such as smoking (De Mejia, et al., p. 135).
Caffeine consuming has been found to increase the amount or level of cholesterol in the human body, which can cause substantial negative effects. According to research, it has been found out that brewed caffeine contains a higher amount of lipid, which contributes to an increased level of cholesterol in the blood serum (Walter & Shapiro, p. 76). For example, people who take more than four cups per day are vulnerable to increases cholesterol levels in the body which, in return, can disrupt the process of food assimilation in the gut. In addition, caffeine is known for disrupting the digestion system by impregnating the intestinal mucosa, which hinders proper chemical compound of the digestive fluid system that enables easy food digestion (Aschan, p. 88-89).
Caffeine is terrible to the human health because it increases the acidity level of gastric juice to the body. Clinical research indicates that caffeine arouses hydrochloric acid in the stomach whereby, increased secretion of human fluids cause indigestion, heartburn as well causes ulcers. Imperative research on effects of coffee has revealed that upon causing these problems, the body becomes acute, especially when a person consumes coffee under stress. Based on this, clinicians recommend that people with gastric acidity problems need to reduce their consumption rate of coffee and those whose ulcer cases may be worsening are advised to stop drinking the substance and instead drink more water or other drinks that are free from coffee contents (Aschan, p. 241).
Consumption of caffeine causes heartburn. According to research, heavy drinkers of coffee usually complain about dyspepsia which occurs when there is a prolonged consumption of coffee on an empty stomach. Therefore, it is incumbent for people to stop taking coffee for a healthier and productive life (Seun Funmilola Akomolafe, p. 34).
Conclusion:
To sum it up, it has been established that continued or prolonged use of caffeine can harm the human body. For example, caffeine consumption has both physical as well as psychological effect s. Evidence suggests that prolonged use of caffeine can cause significant cardiovascular implications such as heart attack and increased chances of other hypertension-related effects (Walter & Shapiro, p. 56). Furthermore, caffeine causes kidney problems and Type 2 diabetes which can be a significant health threat to people who are heavy consumers of the substance. Lastly, caffeine can lead to addiction which can lead to a craving for more reliable remedies such as smoking among others and therefore. At the same time, an individual cannot stop its use at once, and it is recommended that they take the required amount of one cup a day.
