Sibling Experiences in Middle Childhood Predict Sibling Differences in College Graduation
Sibling Experiences in Middle Childhood Predict Sibling Differences in College Graduation (First Published:17 April 2018)
The graduation of a child from college has a significant impact on long-term success in adult life. This study sought to look into the factors which could affect the graduation of students from the college. The research employed quantitative research by collecting information through home interviews with firstborn and second-born from one hundred and fifty-two families. Among the reasons that could lead to differing from college among students is warmth among siblings as well as warmth from parents towards the children. This research was fundamentally essential in highlighting the effect of the home environment on the scholarly success of a child. In light of this, this research is crucial to parents since it explains how parents should be aware of the effect and influence that siblings have over each other (Petit et al. 2019). They should similarly take note of the treatment that they accord their children since the research has established that more warmth between siblings and from parents towards children increases the chances of children following the same success path.
