 Introduction

This is a case of two systems that were implemented in the same school. The two theories conflict as the notion behind each of them is very different. One of the theories is accepted by the management and implement while the one is seemed as not viable. The conflicting theories.

I would support Bens’ theory basically because his system focused on improving teachers and students. He thought that acknowledging teachers’ professional opinions could motivate them. This could also impact the students’ performance positively. Paul’s theory focused on a pre-packaged curriculum that forced teachers to follow their teaching guides to the latter. This system was data-driven and was only out to appeal to the public on the exemplary school performance.

Bens viewed Paul’s system to be unmerited because it depended on scripted lessons and pacing guides. He pushed his system to be implemented by teachers and took the teachers’ opinions for granted. Paul went further to shut down teachers and instruct them to work harder to improve the students’ performance. The system orchestrated by Paul only wanted to surpass the fifty elements of proper instruction to get more funding from the public. He cared more about public opinion than his team’s views. For this reason, i think Bens’ theory was the best system to implement.

If i were Ben, i would try my best to convince Dr. Carmichael to get to know more about my theory. Convincing him would enable the students to get a better education. It would also ensure that teachers are highly motivated since their opinions will now matter. I would also provide proof to the board of management of the school to show that my theory worked before in another school. This would give it a ground for being implemented. In this scenario, i think i would be Bergeson being that his theory seems to be more effective towards the improvement of the students’ and teacher’s performance.

Conclusion

From this scenario, we can see how most schools implement the wrong systems, which tend to be appealing to the public. Bens’ theory was the best for the school as many teachers conformed to it once it was implemented for the first time.
