Visual Design
Classmate 1:
The visual design is advocating for zero plastic waste. The banners and polluted environment are used to convince people to adopt new ways of handling plastic waste. The videos below promote the zero-waste campaign. The persuasive goal is to use as little unsustainable materials as possible. Using more clear photos and writings will help in understanding the message and making it more persuasive.
Classmate 2:
The visual design is about fair pay between men and women of sports. The design shows how women have won many titles as compared to men but still receive fewer payments and concerns. The persuasive goal is to pay women based on their success. Adding more photos that show the average pay of both men and women would help persuade and understand the design more.
Classmate 3:
The design portrays the effects of gun violence. The text indicates the impact of firearms among youths. The design is in white on the first part to show act while the second part is in black displaying the result. The persuasive goal is to help put a stop to gun violence in schools and among most vulnerable kids. I would suggest a design with someone pointing the gun on themselves or another person to persuade more.
Classmate 4:
The visual design is all about online harassment. The sender uses unfriendly words and doesn’t want to reason out, thus showing harassment, while the reply is calm. The persuasive goal is to help put a stop to online harassment. I would suggest more text showing the previous conversation to help us understand the conversation more and determine whether harassment took place.
Classmate 5:
The message is the high costs of drugs in pharmacies. The text in bold plus the drugs clearly explains what the design is about. I suggest adding a photo of the pharmacy to help in understanding where the drugs are costly. The persuasive goal is to help cut costs on drugs. To persuade more, they should add animations of people suffering and failing to access the drugs as a result of high prices.
