Criminal Justice Report
On October 6, 2017, at 0745am, while officer R.E Grubb and I were on duty, we responded to an alarm alert at 1313 Mockingbird Lane. On arriving at the scene, we observed that the alarm was coming from a house (Mr. Phil’s), whose door was open, but the alarm was sounding, indicating a possible burglary. There was no one in the compound. We tried to peep through the windows and the open door, but we saw nobody. We also called out for anyone, but no response came out.
The alarm company called the police at 8:15 am, and the police notified the owner of the house, Mr. Phil Collins, of the incident. Mr. Phil Collins responded to the call and arrived home at 9:00 am. Upon arrival, Officer R.E Grubb and I greeted him. He told me he left for work at 7:00 am, and the door was locked and the alarm set when he left.
Officer R.E Grubb and I cleared the scene from intruders and asked Mr. Phil Collins to determine if anything was taken from the house. Mr. Phil established that a laptop and some money amounting to forty dollars in cash was missing. With the help of an evidence technician sends by the police department, Officer Grubb and I searched for a point of entry.
The evidence technician (ET) was able to secure fingerprint on the countertop and footprints at the backdoor. The ET labeled the evidence and kept it well. Officer Grubb and I issued the incidence number 15355 to Mr. Phil Collins. At 9:45, we cleared the scene and took Mr. Collin’s contacts for follow up.
