Company History
Prexic Healthcare Company is involved in offering both inpatient and outpatient healthcare services. The company was founded in 2002 by Dr. Collins and Dr. Patrick, who are both medical doctors specializing in epidemiology and surgeon, respectively. Prexic healthcare organization is located in California State with several small clinics across the United States. The main customers targeted by Prexic Healthcare Company are the old, women, and children. The rationale behind the segment of customers targeted by the hospital is due to its specialization in the range of ailments that affect this group.
The mission statement of the Prexic Healthcare Company is “to arouse optimism and to contribute to the welfare and health of each patient by offering optimal care through our incorporated research, education, and medical practice.” Equally, the vision statement of this hospital is, “Prexic healthcare organization will provide exceptional services based social trust expected in a healthcare setting.”
The top management of Prexic Healthcare is Dr. Collins and Dr. Patrick as president and vice-president, respectively, Mr. Dory, as a chief financial officer, Miss. Margaret, as a human resource manager, Mrs. Perry, as a marketing manager, Miss. Juliet, as a research and development manager and Mr. Evans as a legal and corporate affairs manager. The diversity of the top management has been instrumental in promoting the performance of the Prexic Healthcare Company. Consequently, the business model of Prexic Healthcare is excellent in realizing its mission and vision goals and objectives.
Resources
The human resource is one of the vital resources Prexic Healthcare due to the essential role they play in serving the clients. Thus, a policy statement on their responsibilities, roles, and training and development has been developed. All employees are expected to file their own taxes, drug testing, finger clearing, and professional licensing. The tax filing for the federal and state personal income should be done online by the deadline date. This approach will enable the company to distribute employees’ taxes with the respective authorities. The drug testing and finger clearance should be done twice in a drug in a schedule of six months at an employee’s cost. The professional licensing is required to be renewed once in a year under the federal laws to the respective professional bodies.
The organization will take the responsibility of offering orientation of new employees and continuous training and development. The orientation exercise will be done once a year for two weeks for the new employees hired the previous month. The orientation exercise will be used to introduce the new employees to the organization’s environment, and the various social grouping observed. In contrast, the training and development exercise will be undertaken every six months. Employees will be exposed to new technologies in their respective areas to enhance their efficiency and accuracy. Equally, the employees will be exposed to other hospitals and researches from leading medical schools to learn diverse approaches to offering services to the clients. Accordingly, employees are asked to be corporative in their roles, responsibilities, orientation, and training to create a favorable environment.
Pay
Payment of all employees will be made on a monthly basis on date 5 of every month through Citigroup banks. Thus, employees are required to open an account with the bank to ease the distribution of the salaries and overtime commissions. The overtime payments will be $200 for every hour for senior medical officers, $100 for standard doctors, and $50 for nurses and supporting staff members.
However, the overtime money will be distributed on a weekly basis on Saturday working hours. Equally, employees will receive bonuses and stock options for the effort they have shown through customer satisfaction surveys and enhanced productivity in their area of work on yearly evaluation. The evaluation will be undertaken by an external firm offering human resource consulting services to improve the neutrality and fairness of the exercise. The pay raises will be after every four years on the basis of an agreement between the workers’ union leaders and senior management of the organization. The pay raise will depend on the macroeconomic factors preexisting and financial performance of the hospital.
The working hours will be distributed both on days and nights due to the nature of services offered by a healthcare organization. The daytime working hours will be eight hours from 8 a.m to 4 p.m. Equally, the night working hours will be from 10 pm to 6 pm for night shift staff members. The time between 4 p.m and 10 pm will be catered by overtime workers offering essential and emergency cases. Employees working at night will be assisted by the company to transport to their allocated working place.
Paid Time Off
The organization that employees should enjoy leaves as required by the state laws and personal needs. Thus, employees will enjoy compensation sick of one month in a year and uncompensated personal leave, maternity leave, and family medical leaves for the days they will not be working. The maternal leave will be for two months before the expected delivery for both men and female employees. However, employees are required to notify the human resource department for sick leave, maternity leave, and personal two weeks prior. One day for sick leave and family medical leaves through physical presentation or a call to enable employee allocation efficiently in your absence.
Employee Behavior
Employees are required to observe their attendance, general breaks, meal breaks strictly to disciplinary measures. The general breaks and failure to meet attendance promptly to supervisors or human resource management. The meal breaks will be distributed evenly from 12 am to 2 pm by supervisors to ensure the flow of medical services is not disrupted. Equally, smoking, fighting, abuse of the organization’s assets, and drunkenness within the hospital’s environment will be responded with critical measures that result in dismissal. Any conflicting issues with colleagues or supervisors should be reported to the human resource office for smooth and inviolate resolution in writing.
Employees determined to be discriminating and abusing their colleagues on approval will be suspended without pay for two months. However, employees that will not change their behavior upon return will be automatically dismissed without payment. Additionally, all employees in interacting with patients are expected to show respect in their words and treatments. Failure to respect the attention and need will face a suspension of one month at half pay and loss benefits during the period. Moreover, the privacy of a patient should of high priority to officers serving one. The information related to a patient should be revealed to the respective patient or their preferred immediate family members or associate. A doctor or nurse discovered to have leaked confidential information will be dismissed and handed to police for violating the health portability and accountability act (HIPAA) of 1996.
Benefits
Prexic Hospital cares for the wellbeing of their employees, which informed the decision to provide essential benefits. Employees of the Prexic Healthcare organization and their nuclear family members will benefit from health care, vision, and dental insurance. However, the beneficiaries of the insurance benefits will be full-time employees and their family members and part-time that have worked for more than a year.
Fulltime employees will be required to service the hospital with marriage certificates and birth certificates to prove members of their nuclear family. Additionally, the hospital will be offering free lunches and super for employees working day and night, respectively, from the canteen.
