However, today new laws are being imposed to ensure that students living with disability can have equal opportunities like other students by gaining academic and personal skills that will make them self-reliant in the community. The three main trends in special education include disability classification, education reform, and standard assessments. How these trends came into Existence? Disability classification was initiated to determine the degree of disadvantage and how it affects a person’s competence and ability to perform different activities. disability classifications based on the ability of the person move around effectively within their environment, participate and maintain social relationships, carry out normal physical activities, and orient themselves in regard to the surrounding among other factors (Simeonsson et al 2017). Education Reform was developed as one of the UN sustainable development goals to ensure access to basic education for all including children living with special needs. Standard assessments regulation was developed to ensure high quality assessments that measure progress and promote equity (Fairman et al 2017).

All these trend ensure that children with ASD have access to education without discrimination. Education reform ensures will ensure that children with autism have access to free education and reduce parent’s education expenses. Standard tests will help children with autism to access high quality standard tests based on their abilities hence promoting equity. Effective practices for educators include · Treating and assessing children based on their degree of disadvantage · Educating children with autism without discrimination · Offering high quality assessments that measure the progress of ASD children and promote equality
