Management Strategies
Strategic management in an organization is very much essential. It is based on a clear understanding of the mission of the organization, the vision for where the organization wishes to be in the future, and the values of the organization together with employees that guide the actions in an organization (Litman, 2018). However, strategic management is a continuous process to plan on an activity to take place, monitor the performance of the operation, analysis its outcomes, and assess all the needs of an organization. This essay explains the strategies that the team leader will apply to ensure that the organization launches a product in six geographical markets expertly.
The central role of strategic management is to aid the organization to stock its present situation, identify the strategies, deploy them and analyze the effectiveness of the implemented management strategies (Olatomiwa, Mekhilef, Ismail, & Moghavvemi, 2016). This process requires the team to be committed to strategic planning, where the team leader decides on the measures and methods that will ensure that the product will reach the market. Also, in strategic planning, it is crucial to plan for the strategic decisions, the required activities, and how the resources are supposed to be allocated in different markets so that the objectives are achieved (Litman, 2018).
Effective management is not all about designing a work environment that works, but it is about being a leader, creating interpersonal relationships, giving good feedback, and being a team player (Zhang, & Van Den Bulcke, 2018). The leader must keep others motivated all the time in an organization so that they achieve the goals of the organization together with respecting their leader. It is imperative to understand that all the methods for strategic management in an organization are only useful if the team uses the technique with understanding the performance management strategies.
Performance management implies the setting of suppositions for performance and planning the best ways to meet them, monitoring the performance in an organization, motivating employees through rewards and praises for excellent performance, rating performance regularly, and developing new strategies for optimal performance. For the business to achieve its targeted goal, the company is endorsed to follow all the performance management strategies (Onori, Serrao, & Rizzoni, 2016).
As a senior manager controlling the launching of a new product to six geographic markets, it is essential to describe and communicate the goals of the organization and performance objectives to the team leader in the different geographical markets. The team leaders cannot achieve the performance expectations that they have not been clearly outlined. Therefore, ass the senior manager, the expectations of the organization are supposed to be outlined clearly to all the team leaders and the employees so that they are aware of the needs of the organization (Konin, 2018).
Defining the needs of the organization can be achieved through using a goal-tracking software, sending out emails to the team leaders that outlines the requirements of the organization, holding meetings or even distributing flyers throughout the offices of the six geographical markets. This is important so that there is uniformity in the way the different team leaders undertake their work so that at the end of the day, the needs of the organization are achieved (Onori, Serrao & Rizzoni, 2016). Every organization has its set up requirements for every new product.
To monitor the performance of the six different geographical markets, it is vital to utilize the use of performance management software. Performance management software is essential since they streamline the strategies that are used to manage the performance, making them imperative. Performance management software means that the system the team leader uses in all the six geographical markets is friendly, easy to use, and allows fast and actionable reporting (Litman, 2018). The performance management software will ensure that the senior manager and the team leaders stay on top of the needs of the organization.
It is also vital to offer frequent performance feedback. As we all understand, communication is essential in ana organization not only to gauge the progress of the activities but also to provide feedback in an organization. Excellent performance feedbacks lead to strong skill sets and positive behaviors in an organization (Onori, Serrao, & Rizzoni, 2016). The team leaders should be given feedback on their performance so that they are aware of the needs of the organization and how far they have achieved or failed to achieve their goals. Also, feedback on performance that is provided on time is right away to affirm employees and their work together with structuring their job effectively.
Progress reports or meetings are very vital to identify and mitigate conflicts among employees. Some employee may need to use their methods in achieving the required goals in the organization, as a senior manager is significant to set frequent gatherings to discuss outcomes and results (Litman, 2018). Such a meeting can be set to be held on a weekly or monthly bases to ensure that in all the six geographical markets, every team leader is implementing the objectives of the organization.
Also, as a senior manager, it is good to implement preemptive management recognitions. The best way to guarantee results in the workplace is to use rewards and preventive management strategies (Konin, 2018). Rewards and incentives will become essential to show employees that you care, you need their efforts, and you are pleased with their performance, and they should keep up with the work. Through the use of this method, the team leaders will be focused and maintain a good relationship so that they achieve the objectives.
In conclusion, strategic management is an excellent way to ensure that productivity in an organization is achieved. The strategic management should be used based on the performance management techniques, which puts in mind the required practices and all the needs of the organization. As a senior manager for promoting a new product in six geographic markets, I will follow the above methods to achieve the goals of the organization.
