The industrial style in interior design

Definition

Industrial style:

The industrial style in interior design is an edgy style that has less decoration and more emphasis and exposure of the building’s bare structure and unfinished walls, floor, and ceilings. In industrial style, the construction of the building is never finished.

Minimalist style:

Minimalist style in interior design showcases ultimate simplicity, the minimalism of space, elements, and materials. This style is based on neutral and basic color palette, with more natural light and components, and fewer objects and decorative items. Designers value empty spaces, cleanliness, and simplicity.

BACKGROUND AND – HISTORY

Place and time of origin of the industrial style of design are not well known. However, it is speculated that this style was developed in the early period of the twentieth century. This happened almost in line with the end of the second industrial revolution, while the trends towards globalization became more evident. During this period, several factories moved their operations to other countries resulting in abandoning several industrial buildings. This, therefore, left an opportunity with endless resources and building materials to use.
