Health Care System in America
Rendering my evaluation, the finance, suitability and delivery, methods of the health care system in the United States are not very useful. The delivery system in health care facilities have several gaps that are left unfilled leading to poor health care delivery. Firstly, insurance coverage is still a problem. The United States has an average of 26 million people that do not have insurance covers as they cannot afford them and thus, their health is not guaranteed. Studies have proven that insurance covers contribute to the reduction of mortality rate as people can access better health care by the use of these covers. Thus, it means that the mortality rate is high when the U.S. population lack medical covers.
The comparison of intervention in public health, lack of medical covers is affected by ethnicity, geography, bias and stereotyping. An additional problem in the delivery system is the underperformance of primary care. There lacks proper research that is necessary for evidence-based treatment, few employees in the workforce, and reluctance to embrace medical technology fully. Consequently, nursing education still is a challenge, which plays parts in the lack of effectiveness in delivery systems in the U.S. healthcare facilities. Health diet, better housing, social services, and home visiting are not appropriately addressed, which makes health care delivery systems weak. Finally, the United States experiences inefficiency in its administrative order. There is a lot of money and time that is spent on billing claims rather than being spent on creating private medical insurance coverage that will be perfect.
On the centrally, finance and other sustainability tactics used in healthcare have not attained their goal of quality, safe, and affordable medical treatment. The funding systems in health fail to consider all groups in the population, emphasizing mostly on vulnerable groups like people with disabilities and the aged. This population contains the vulnerable members have a high risk of getting infected with chronic diseases and other illnesses that are hazardous. On the other hand, it does not mean that they are the only population that needs health care services. In the United States, we have different groups of people like the working poor, the minority and the low-income earners that are in existence as a result of ethnicity and geography.
Additionally, the funding system in the United States has failed to be successful in the Medicare expansion and provision of medical covers to more individuals. Other health sustainability tactics, such as having a clean environment, disposing of waste products properly, sanitation, water, patient education, jobs, energy, and food, have not been adequately addressed. These gaps are the factors that make the United States have inadequate healthcare delivery systems.
I am proposing a reform in healthcare that will expand medical covers where a large population will own them, reduce healthcare expenses, where the minority population like the working poor and the vulnerable will have accesses to the. Additionally, I would like to propose that financial healthcare be performed in a manner that is effective with the inclusion of private health providers in issuing medical insurances. Added health sustainability approaches like better housing, having a hygienic environment, water, basic needs like food, energy and jobs should also be considered, and the government should commit to providing them. If the said proposals are implemented and adhered to, then there will be finance, a sound delivery system and approaches that are sustainable in the health care system of the U.S.
In the United States, there are several stakeholders involved in the healthcare system. They include hospitals, nurses, insurers, patients, regulators, among others. These network of stakeholders is either indirectly r directly impacted by reforms made in health care systems. When the costs increase in healthcare services, all the parties are affected as their pockets are touched. Second, implementation of changes like improvements pinpoint the participants and holds them accountable for any health care delivery services. Hence, effective choices on healthcare reforms touch all stakeholders positively and vice versa. For nurses to have a better future, and healthcare delivery in general, changes in healthcare need to be considered severe. Better decisions also need to be carried out to improve America’s health care delivery system.
