Overkilling of fauna
The project seeks to establish how effective the human overkill theory has been in resolving the controversy between itself and the Climate Change hypothesis. As a result, the drastic disappearing of megafauna will be justified using the human overkill theory. Both theories have been found controversial for instance; the American archaeologist has rejected the overkilling argument to lack of evidence on humans directly engaging in animal killing. Over the years, Climate Change hypothesis has been subjected to review by credible authorities as well as the public. However, it has not been able to present a set of new evidence to support its proposition. As such, it has lost the public opinion view. The human overkill hypothesis, on the other hand, not disputed the Climate Change hypothesis. It presents a set of rather convincing propositions.
I hypothesise that the overkilling theory explains the mega killing of fauna that has resulted in animal extinction. Studies have shown that the modern man has led to the destruction of a vast number of animals. This has occurred through hunting them for food or through outcompeting. An article published by the Australian peer-reviewed journal published by Alrcheringa claims that the period of mega animal extinction coincides with the arrival of the Clovis people and the grey wolf into northern American. Evidence of animal over killing is also explained during the period when hunters and gatherers were crossing the Bering Land Bridge into American. The hypothesis is drawn from a school of thought with pieces of evidence to support its validity. The evidence supporting the theory making it reliable to explaining why there has needed an increase in animal extinction.it has also provided the much need information on the need to control human activity so that animal extinction is reduced.
The hypothesis overlaps with the Clovis-first paradigm school of thought. According to this school of view, there was no human being living in the Americas earlier than the last 13,000 years back. The 13,000-year figure is used and is regarded as the Clovis. To gather this data, test to a more significant extent, the interaction with other theories in the environment. It is through excavations of the early signs of life have been identified and used as evidence. As far as the pieces of evidence are concerned, there is no fossil or sign of life in the Americas earlier than the 13,000 years ago. Martin was able to identify that there was no permanent human occupation in the US before this period. Climate Change could not have caused the extinction of the species by itself. Therefore, their claim of self-sufficiency cannot be justified under any given circumstances. The proponents of the theory ignore the fact that several other factors must have played towards extinction. Human kill is most favourable since it flexible enough to accommodate more.
To determine the validity of the hypothesis, I will need a variety of secondary sources of information. This data can be useful in determining how climate change and animal overkilling may have resulted in the extinction of species. Archaeological centres, as well as museums, keep records of historical events and people hence will be reliable sources on this regard. Surveys, Excavation of animal fossils as well as testing in regions such as Asia, Northern America, Africa, Europe south American and Australia. According to research, these regions have shown pieces of evidence of animal killing activities in the past hence will provide the much-needed information on the issue.
