Feminism

Introduction.

Feminism is a range of movements and ideologies that triest explain and establish the role of both genders and bringing all sexes to equilibrium hence promoting gender equality rule. (Davidman,1992).  This is an act that is being initiated by women being the majority of the theme. The main agenda of feminism is fighting the long believed scenario that men are the ones who should dominate the societies; this gender imbalance oriented paradigm is to be resisted and ruled out with immediate effect.  This will open the job market and governance to both sexes and promote contributions from women as well as from men.

In this paper, I will present the institution of leadership and governance as far as feminism is concerned. I have been a member of the youth developmental committee back in my community, and this triggered a lot of sense and brought a lot of unanswered questions about the perception of women and their role in the community. Community governance and top leadership positions were left for men, and this elicited my mind to think deeper than it should. Women were not recognized since they are associated with domestic pandemonium and some simple roles in society, such as taking care of the kids and obeying orders without questioning anything. Questioning the role of governance and leadership is seen as a disgrace and lack of respect.

After seeing all the norms and improperly inclined believes, I was moved by the urge to fight for social movement and sexes equality in governance and leadership. Being a young fellow in the society, it wasn’t easy for me to convince society that women are equally good in governance just like men. It took a negative and opposition that I experienced confirms the biasness of gender and lack of empowerment in our society. I was able to approach a prominent and renowned leader in our society to help in the implementation of the women empowerment and gender equality in the community even as I was also planning to challenge the entire country of the same. This was the only peaceful and diplomatic means by which this could happen.

After all the actions and the various attempts to ensure that women also have a share in the governance, the outcome revealed that people in the community, especially men, do not understand the capability of women. Lack of knowledge is another thing that has been drawing the community back. The outcome of the event showed a good response as people including the top leaders were starting to give it time and concern that is projected to bring a positive outcome as far as feminism and the entire social, political and economic movements are balanced in our society
