Racism impacts the victim negatively
Racism is one of the critical issues that has disapproved of its total elimination in the society. Racism refers to the idea of believing that a particular race is better, superior, or inferior than the other. It is believed that their inborn biological characteristics predetermine a person’s moral and social characters. Racism has long existed in history, whereby people, especially African, are discriminated against due to their skin color.
Racism impacts the victim negatively, with war and slavery being the most known effects of racism. In the nations where racism is highly rampant, people are treated as a lesser human with animals getting better treatment than them in some countries, for example, dogs are fed and clothed better than humans. Ironically, it is easy for some people to provide physical comfort and medical care to their pets than to a human. Physiological and psychological torture is some of the negative impacts associated with the victims of racisms. Unemployment is a big problem brought about by racism whereby superior race is believed to be better than the inferior at the majority of workplaces. For instance, whites still dominate the significant positions in many organizations.
In an attempt to curb racism, several approaches have been employed worldwide. Such strategies include; incorporating awareness programs in both universities and colleges, which are aimed at fighting racism as well as educating the young generation about its dangers and the need for curbing it. The establishment of the “focal point” on racial equality is also an approach aimed at fighting racism. This approach has its office based in the United Nations, and its primary purpose was to oversee the fight against racism by monitoring the integration of issues related to racial equality. Different organizations have been established internationally and whose common goal is to acknowledge, promote, and protect the equality of victims of racism and other forms of intolerance acts in society. Slogans such as “Racism stops with me” have been adopted but in vain. Laws have been enforced, and a heavy punishment for people convicted with racism crimes has been passed, but still racism in troubling people nationwide.
The best approach to fight racism is needed. Therefore, the permanent solution is through enacting laws that promote forceful interracial marriage. This proposal can effectively work by enforcing harsh laws to all the youth in the entire world not to marry their race. Both passive and active racism and all its horrific forms are indeed passed through to generation. Therefore, fighting racism should then approached by first interrupting the sequence of the generations by not giving the youth’s chances to marry from their race. Adopting the approach of interracial marriage is very advantageous since it will fill the existing gap between people from different races by introducing uniformity by making people share common traits. Also, there will be equality in job places since working positions will be assigned based on qualifications, unlike race.
In conclusion, racism is still rampant in our society and needs to addressed and bring togetherness. Many attempts have been made for decades to curb the issue with the involvement of laws, educational awareness, and other strategies. Nevertheless, since the approaches have failed, the solution is to introduce forceful interracial marriages to bring uniformity in the society. The unmarried youths are the ones to be targeted with this solution since it will help to curb the generational stereotypes.
