                                Patient-centered Approach Therapy

Patient-centered care or person-centered care encompasses treating a patient or a person already receiving health care services with respect, dignity, and actively engaging them in all decision making processes concerning their health. One can perceive themselves consciously through a humanistic approach such as person-centered therapy.

Coordination between healthcare providers and services gives you patient-centered care(“Patient-centred care explained,” 2015). This puts the patient at the center of the healthcare by tailoring the patients’ achievements and needs: when a patient makes a referral from a GP to a specialist, coordinating and communicating one’s care between different services and appointments can be done over time.

These conditions for change help a patient to stay independent, look after herself, and also find ways to feel better. Involving the patient in all healthcare decisions enables one to learn and understand the status of your health. One thing I like about this approach is that healthcare respects your preferences throughout the treatment(“Person-centred therapy,” n.d.). Moreover, healthcare professionals do not discriminate one based on preference, background, originality, religious beliefs, employment status, sexual orientation, gender, and disability.in addition they acknowledge one for who he is.

Active participation in patient-centered care improves healthcare through goal setting and healthcare planning. Healthcare officials’ gives all the intended information required to make an informed decision such as treatment options, potential side effects, prognosis, and costs. Concerns about patient-centered care are that a person can refuse treatment and choose that which is comfortable to him. However, in such cases like this, the patient can choose someone else to make medical decisions on their behalf. The approach aids the patient to relink with their sense of self-esteem and inner ethics: enabling them to grow, fulfill their potential, and move forward.
