Title of the project: The Company Security Assessment Project
Background
The project was to evaluate our Entity’s security system controls. The group was to record the current-state pattern IT condition as it identified by security, including the individuals, procedures, and advancements. The group project team was to work together with the Entity’s partners to record the after-effects of the security appraisal and build up the suggestions report.
Project Goal
The project was looking for a Security Service’s examination to give a Risk Assessment to our business Entity. I was the group leader of the task, directing my partners on what the project anticipated from them.
Project scope
The scope was a Security Services Investigation to give a Risk Assessment to our business Entity. This Assessment was important and was to be finished in two weeks.
- Identification
- Identification of individuals who are related to the pertinent private information proposed to be secure.
- Identification of advantages for creating a benchmark inventory.
- Reviewing current documentation and approaches for vulnerabilities with the firm accepted procedures.
- Comprehensive Assessment
- Interviewing people identified to assess the quality of the Clients current controls.
- Threat Analysis
- Provision of point by point examination of the present security condition, including vulnerabilities.
- Provision of point by point examination of different danger events, both the potential and the effect of the dangers happening.
- Provision of point by point examination of the degree of dangers for these dangers arranged by most elevated need.
- Report and Presentation
- Provision of a detailed exhaustive Security Assessment Report comprising of all discoveries identified.
- Provision of the Security Assessment Project including detailed project undertaking of recommended solutions.
List of Deliverables
1.1Deliverable 1: Project Plan
The project team facilitated an opening meeting that was expected to audit the objectives, approach, and extent of administrations. At this meeting, the group introduced an undertaking plan that portrayed the plans, assets to be included, and the task periods for each task.
1.1.1 WP1 (First Work Package)
Vulnerability Assessment Report. The group project team summed up their discoveries, including yet not restricted to security dangers, and vulnerabilities. These discoveries were introduced in a Vulnerability Assessment Report.
1.1.2 WP2 (Second Work Package)
Recommended Solutions Report. The group was to convey reports, organizing the rundown of suggested arrangements lined up with the point of the project.
1.2 Deliverable 2: Project Finding Presentation
The group concurred that after looking at the pertinent Security frameworks of the association, they were to introduce the finding in archived records, for additional examination and future reference.
1.2.1 WP1 (First Work Package)
Reports Presentation. The group was to convey the required reports and presentations. The reports and presentations were in the documentation and gave the present image of the security of the organization.
1.2. 2 WP2 (Second Work Package)
Verification and Validation of the Findings. The team project was to complete tasks as dictated by the approved Authorized User agreement. To ensure that the results were correct, the team submitted their documents to an external auditor to verify the findings.
Characteristic of the project team
The project team was to meet the six characteristics of effective project teams, which comprises of clearly defining goals, roles, Valued diversity, effective communication, effective decision making and balanced participation. However, in this project, my team did not develop the characteristic of balanced participation. The main cause of this was the lack of trust within the project team participants.
The trust was to be crucial to ensure the solidarity of the team members. They were needed to be acquainted, both professionally and personally, particularly in ensuring that the project was to be successful. Nevertheless, in this project the members were not willing to engage with each other effectively, thus made it difficult for the team leader to connect the member to provide the expected result.
