Sustainable Water and Sanitation Services

In ensuring that the people adhere to the community plans that were made by Greater Bellport in an aim to enhance the quality of air and public health, the government sets aside a team within the ministry of the environment whose primary purpose will be to ensure that the code or the plans are adhered to by every member of the community. To ensure that the people in the community are compliant with proper disposal of hazardous waste, the team provides that they pay daily visits around the community first educating or making people aware of the importance of ensuring that they properly dispose of their hazardous wastes then ensure that they set up rules and laws regarding those who went contrary to the measures set (Linos, Quan, & Kirkman, 2020). When people fail to obey the measures, then the team ensures that necessary measures are taken on them, including being sued in a court of law as well as being fined for their actions.

It is through community mobilization and making people aware as well as taking legal actions to those who defy with the disposal of hazardous waste measures that makes people compliant (Worrall & Wheeler, 2019). Houston, the public works department, the public health department, work together in the testing and monitoring the quality of water coming from different sources to ensure that it is safe and free from hazardous wastes that could be harmful to the residents of Houston. They involve the people in cleaning waterways through volunteer programs as well as engaging the people in campaigns aimed at making them aware of how to dispose of wastes as well as how the disposal of hazardous wastes such as chemicals comprises the quality of water in the city.

In my opinion, the construction of entirely dependent paths is not the most effective way that people can be protected mainly because, when people get compliant and disciplined to follow the traffic rules and regulations, they could also use the bike and walkways that are usually constructed at the sides of the main roads without getting to situations where they feel unsafe. Creating awareness on how to use the existing roads and ways in which people can guarantee the safety of the others on the streets is one significant and most effective way of protecting people without incurring more costs. The process is cost-effective, and it helps people be disciplined on the roads, which means it is also an effective way to protect people.
