Factors that Influence the HealthCare Policy.
Healthcare is a dynamic sector that experiences constant changes because of its volatile and complex nature (Turner, 2019). Several forces influence the creation and changes in policies within the health care sector. One of the most influential factors is technology. The changes in technology used to provide services to consumers in the healthcare system have a significant impact on different kinds of policies. For instance, technology impacts the labour force within the healthcare system and in turn, its policies (Öz et al., 2018). Another influential factor is public opinion. Wendt and Naumann (2018) argue that public opinion is one of the key factors behind the reforms in the healthcare systems. The public has the most potential to fill in the veto position that may block reforms of policies (Wendt & Naumann, 2018). Scientific research and projects also have a profound effect on healthcare policy. Hanney et al. (2017), conducted a study that showed thirty-one out of thirty-six multi-project pieces of research had an impact on policies concerning their topic of research.
Factors that affect healthcare policies also trickle down to the grass-root level. Installation of new administrative systems and machinery has affected the employment rate at many of the hospitals and clinics in local areas. The number of employment opportunities available to medical administrative staff and assistant nurses has decreased significantly. Also, the public demand for mitigation of rising healthcare cost has led to some changes. A few of the clinics and health consultants operating in the area have implemented a private co-payment system. Scientific findings which are interrogated and accepted by the medical boards of the healthcare facilities are more often than not practised to ensure the consumers receive the most up to date services.
