Minority groups
In society, some people are less disadvantaged and have operated in a less fortunate way compared to the ordinary people in the community. Minority people can be disadvantaged based on their races, religions, sex, and disabilities. An individual may be in a subgroup, but their characteristics may make them belong to specific minority groups. The term minority is often associated with different human rights and how they are well taken care of in a country. Minority groups often undergo various violations and discriminations in different countries. This has led to varying formations of minority groups according to the difficulties they experience throughout. This has been a very big challenge for many countries to solve.
Gender and sexual minorities are one of the main minority groups. In this case, a number of sexual instances have to be presented. This includes men who have sex with fellow men (Gay) as well as lesbians. In the world, some groups have feelings for the same gender. Also, some people in the same groups have two sexual organs (Transgender) and have always requested for their governments to work on their rights the leading group that listens to them in the world is known as LGBTQ Umbrella. This has to be taken care of despite other people seeing them as immoral and a cursed group of people. They are typically segregated and hence have to ask the government to listen to their rights.
Involuntary minorities are a group of people who were brought into a particular society against their will. They include African Americans who were brought to America as slaves as well as Native Americans who are always forced with civilization. The native people frequently undergo a lot of difficulties, especially in adapting to teaching schools and the environment. This should not be the case as the government should ensure that they are also safe and comfortable. In these cases, their culture is regarded as outdated, which makes them feel odd in the community.
Voluntary minorities are people who migrate into a particular country intending to grow economically, educationally, socially, and morally. Unlike the involuntary minorities, they are usually in a state by which they understand society and integrate well with them. Earlier, they may have a problem with language, but this would always change as they quickly adapt to a new culture and enrich it too. They include Americans, Mexicans, and Indians. These groups of people are still seen developing and try to create the economy of the native land they migrate into.
Religious minorities are also considered in different countries. This is where for one to be in a country, one has the top belong to a certain religion. In the world, there are over four religions. Therefore, many countries don’t expect their members to belong to any of the religions. Ideally, countries should start considering the fact that citizens should have freedom of worship. This would always favor the members of a nation and not restrict them. In Egypt, citizens are only allowed to join Christianity, Islam, or Judaism. However, Pakistan will enable members to be part of any religion and are forcefully converted or killed.
Persons with disabilities are also part of minorities in society. The disabled in the organization usually has a number of complications, which include; deafness, dumb, and cripple. The people in the community are always involved in helping them so that they achieve their goals. However, some of them do not undergo the ordinary lifestyle people undergo; therefore, they are taken as a minority. People with disabilities should not be neglected in the society.
