The frequency and cause of Ebola
Q12
Global health is a wide topic with several sub-topics. Epidemiology is one of the things that captured my attention which I had not paid much attention. I had not to pay attention to research on the outcome and causes of some diseases such as Ebola. Discovering the affected population of Ebola is one of the things which I hadn’t done more studies concerning the spread of the disease. Epidemiology refers to the study of the distribution and the pattern of disease and the causes of the disease in a given population. The frequency and cause of Ebola are one of the things that I lacked enough knowledge as I had not paid much attention to it.
The other thing is the about noncommunicable diseases, the cause of such diseases received less attention mainly concerning their causes and methods to prevent. Assuming that these are normal disease and many individuals don’t concentrate more on studying them and I discovered these diseases account for over 70% of the world deaths. The diseases are linked to genetic, behavioural and environmental factors. There is less information concerning these diseases such as heath disease, cancer that are attributed to be caused by smoking, alcohol consumption which I pay less attention to discovering its effects and more causes to these diseases.
Q21
Total number of populations with Ebola = 50
Number of deaths= 42
% fatality = no of fatality/ total number of populations with Ebola* 100
42/50 * 100= 84%
=This is Almost 85%
