Importance of a High School Diploma
A high school diploma is a certificate that indicates a student has completed high school studies and meets all the requirements for graduation. The requirements to earn a diploma include passing grade-level English, mathematics, social studies, science, and other classes. A high school diploma is important to the future life of a student.
Individuals wishing to further their education need a high school diploma. With the diploma, many community and state colleges can enroll one in their college programs. The diploma is proof that one has the basic knowledge applied for higher learning. In the job markets, a college degree is essential for hiring (Clark & Martorell, 2014). A high school diploma helps one secure job position, which can help one in their adulthood life. Individuals with no high school diploma find themselves stuck low wage jobs without chances for promotion.
A high school diploma is also essential in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Through assured employment, one accesses medical care through insurance. The general living standards of an individual rise through the available resources present. According to American statistics, individuals who have completed their high school diplomas, live above poverty lines (Anguiano, 2018). One gets a chance to apply for loans for their cars, home, and education purposes. One also serves as a role model for their siblings and children.
In conclusion, a high school diploma lifts one’s self-esteem when seeking job opportunities and it motivates one to enter into the workforce after a high school diploma one can decide to further their education or enter into the workforce. Whenever the choice, the high school diploma is important in the success needed in the field.
