Lauren Kois, Christopher King, Casey and Alana Cook talk reveal about the art of cultivating leadership in students who are in the psychological profession. The paper shows that there is a need for intense and comprehensive training to be incorporated in the psychological coursework. They reveal that leadership in psychology is one very essential attribute of the career that is often overlooked. Leadership training and experiences are crucial for people in long term careers because they influence the operation and interactions in the specific field of career. To these researchers, enhancing leadership in the psychological field is a sure way of strengthening competence as this will serve to improve the profession as a whole. Not only does leadership in this career path act as a professional mentoring, but it also helps students to develop leadership skills that are important in this field of study. According to these authors, to be effective in the field of psychology one has to develop leadership qualities because of the nature of the career. Careers in psychology involve a lot more interactions between the psychologist and the clients. There is a great need to have leadership qualities that will offer students access to professional and administrative leadership experience. Additionally, the authors reveal that teaching leadership qualities to students will help them to operate with autonomy and with more predictability. This will also help them in making better and rational decisions while they practice what they have learnt in psychology. Leadership is seen to have come up as a result of necessity. This is because it proved to have more advantages in solving social coordination problems. In psychology, leadership is important because it offers the guidelines that are to be followed in the profession. This article relates to my research because it reveals the importance of teaching about leadership to students in the field of psychology. Additionally, through the article, we denote the essential role that leadership has in psychology and how the two interrelate. Also, the article shows how importance it is for students who aspire to be counselors to have learnt leadership qualities and the role that leadership plays is their career path.

Ruth Fassinger and Sandra Shullman write an article about leadership and psychology. In the article, the two present an empirical study about leadership in the field of counselling psychology. According to the article by the two writers, it has been noted that though many of the psychologists engage in professional leadership roles, there is still less information about its importance. The article additionally reveals the role that leadership plays in counselling psychology. Information about how applicable information in the psychological field of counselling was essential for effective leadership. Such details of information included the values and attributes like commitment that people in psychological field required. These qualities in most cases were qualities for effective leaders. Just like in leadership, psychology too is an interaction between the leaders and the clients. Therefore, the psychologist needs to maintain an ethical environment that has the interests of the client at heart. The article reveals the problems of lack of leadership in psychology and it concludes with a more urgent attention of leadership by counselling psychologists. Ruth Fassinger and Sandra Shullman write the diversity of leadership approaches in the field of psychology while basing the diversity of these approaches to explain how leadership theories are relevant to counselling in psychology. This article relates o my rease4rch topic as it expounds on the role that leadership plays in psychology counselling. In a career such as counselling, leadership acts as the basis for the profession. The role that leadership plays in psychology is immense and the merits are equally more.

Meltem Yavuz in his research suggests that leadership can be learnt and that followers can respond to the learnt habits positively. According to him, engagement and well-being of employees in an organization all relies on the management qualities that are being implemented within the company. In psychology, he explains that the leadership type can influence the interaction and the processes that go on within the organization. Transformational leadership and other authentic leaderships have led to a blossomed positive psychological advancement along with other disciplines. According to this article, positive organizational behavior has an objective of increasing the performance and interactions of the managers and leaders with their clients hence promoting positive psychological interactions within the organization. Transformational leadership which is aimed at enhancing change in a person or a group of people plays an essential role in counselling in the field of psychology. The article is in correlation with my research because it helps to establish the role of leadership in psychology. The paper evaluates how leadership theories like transformational theory can help to impact change in psychology. Such theories help to show the role that leadership plays in counselling of psychology. The transformational theory especially reveals how important leadership can be in influencing change in leadership ultimately holds essential position in psychology especially in counselling.
