The article provides an analysis of available educational materials available on the school online networking sites to teachers and how the teachers use social networking sites to promote teacher collaboration. The paper examines how social networks encourage teacher collaboration and how the relationship impacts student performance and career teaching experience. The study also attempted to answer the question of the limitations that social networking may have in education and teacher collaboration. The study results indicate that the proper use of social networks facilitates teacher collaboration. Teachers shared learning material such as notes, lessons, plans, and ways of handling special needs students. It is possible to collaborate with teacher colleagues who are wide apart, thus encouraging positive teacher socialization. The sharing of educational resources was also found to determine teacher level and access to resources among the members. Those teachers who are in administrative positions were found to possess much power and monotony over resources at their disposal. Generally, social network enhances teacher collaboration, and student achievements are teachers get professional knowledge sharing from a poor of experts accessible at the press of a search engine. From these findings, it is evident that virtual meetings are also possible over social media sites, and teachers can take advantage to develop socially, politically, and emotionally.
