admission to the eight-week English teaching-intensive course
Dear Sir/ Madam,
I am writing to apply for admission to the eight-week English teaching-intensive course for foreign students offered by a college in the south of England for the academic year beginning May 2021.
I am a 20-year-old Vietnamese citizen, currently living in Nha Trang. During the one year that I worked as an English tutor for a 3rd grader. In addition, I also worked as an English teaching assistant for Gia Bao foreign language center.
As outlined in my curriculum vitae, which I have enclosed, I attended Nguyen Trai High School in Nha Trang, where I completed “A” level studies. Currently, I am studying English major at Nha Trang University, where there is a team of English teachers of international standards, and the facilities are extremely complete and modern.
I believe that I am well-suited to a career in teaching English, and I really want to be a good teacher in the future. However, I feel that I lack the formal qualifications and training necessary to progress beyond my present level of assistant teaching English. An eight-week English teaching-intensive course will give me the opportunity to study in-depth and gain advanced skills in teaching and assessing English proficiency from an international perspective.
Your university has an extremely good reputation in the field of English teaching and language research. The facilities which you offer to students seem both practical and up-to-date. Your learning environment has many native speakers and non-native speakers of English, which is a good way for me to experience the English language more. “TESOL – teaching English to speakers of other languages” is a course in your curriculum that makes me particularly interested, as is the opportunity to study in a large city such as London.
Please find enclosed a copy of my CV, giving further details of my education and work experience. I hope you will consider my application and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Yours faithfully,
Q An
