different ways of coping with stress,

Stress remains a significant problem in modern society, with many people not knowing what to do or how to handle the problem. Although modern society considers stress as a major problem, stress management still remains an issue of concern because of many cases of depression. According to the annual Stress survey conducted in America, people of all ages are stressed but lack coping abilities. Further, the reports indicate that stress has affected the lives of many individuals, both physically and emotionally. Due to these challenges, there is a need to find effective ways of relieving or coping with stress. There are different ways of coping with stress, but most of these strategies vary depending on the practices involved.

In class, we were taught different coping strategies of stress, and the debate between my classmate and me made me understand the strengths and weaknesses of two major coping strategies identified in our discussion. The two common coping strategies identified during our discussion is tasked-oriented and emotion-oriented exercises. These two strategies have both strengths and weaknesses. In our discussion with my classmate, we realized that emotional-oriented exercise is best preferred among many people because the focus is on an individual inner belief and ability to control their emotions. It makes people emotionally strong and provides them with a stronger belief to overcome other life challenges. The main disadvantage of emotion-oriented exercise is that in the absence of the psychologists, the depressed person may find it hard to cope with the kind of stress that affect them.

The second stress coping strategy is task-oriented exercises. The main advantage of task-oriented exercise is that it keeps people engaged and forget the problem they face. However, the challenge associated with task-oriented exercise is that it is tiresome and feared by lazy people.
