Searching for recipes

I tapped the main menu icon ( the three lines on the header bar). After about 2 seconds, a drop-down menu appeared, with a search bar below it.

I tapped inside the search bar and typed the words ” chocolate ice cream’.

I then tapped the search icon next to the search bar.

After about 2 seconds, the results page appeared.

The first result was “Vegan Campfire Snuggle Hot Chocolate”(screenshot 2).

I tapped on the title, and a page with the same title appeared. I scrolled through the page until I reached a subheading written “INGREDIENTS “and read through.

I tapped on the main menu icon ( the three lines ) on the header bar after about a second a drop-down menu appeared.

I tapped on the About Us tab on the drop-down menu. This action opened two options, after about a second- Overview and How We’re structured.

I thought the overview would probably contain the history, so I tapped on it. After bout 2 seconds, the “Our History” page appeared. I read through the page as I scrolled until I got it the information ( Screenshot 3)

Option 1

I tapped the scoop shops tab on the header bar.

The writings on the tab disappeared, but no result comes after a long wait – 5 minutes.

The website did not respond at all (screencast 1).

Option 2

I tapped on the order delivery tab on the header bar. After about a second ” Find Icecream Shop Near Me” page appeared.

I scrolled to the” Scoop Shop” Button and tapped it. It opened a blank page. I did not register any further response. (Screencast 2)

Option 3

I tapped on the main menu icon on the header bar, a drop-down menu appeared.

On the drop-down menu, I tapped the “Scoop Shop” tab, which opened the” Ben and Jerry’s Scoop Shops” page.

I scrolled down the page to search box, touched on the search bar and typed Manchester. A pop-up page appeared (screenshot 5 ) with 9 Scoop shop results.

I was impressed by the name of the first result,” Odeon Manchester Printworks,” so I tapped on ” give directions” link on the outcome. Immediately, Google maps opened on my phone, showing the location of the shop.

I entered my start point as Liverpool. The map instantly showed a 58-minute driving route to the shop (screenshot 6), the shortest in the map.

I began my journey by tapping on the main menu icon on the header bar, a drop-down menu appeared.

On the drop-down menu, I tapped “What’s New” to discover something new. A page with “Show Categories” tab appeared.

I tapped the show categories tab on, and several options appeared. I wanted a choice that could take my creativity to another level, so I picked on the Recipes tab and tapped it. A page with several delicacies appeared. I chose “Ice cream Sandwiches” by tapping the title. I then read the ingredients and the procedure.

Likes

Good contrast in the color scheme-for example, a blue background has white text; white background has black text and white background blue text.

The text size allows easy viewing without strain- not too small, not too big.

Easy navigation- most images act as links. The link color contrasts well with the text color e.g., blue link against black text, so you can easily see and click them. Also, it is easy to locate the main menu.

There’s a page navigation bar to help you know how far you’re from the bottom of the page.

Good loading time – even in a 2G network, most pages loaded under 2 seconds.

Most tab and button are very responsive upon a single tap, e.g., Order delivery tab.

The website is well organized; all spaces are utilized well. The essential aspect like delivery, shop hit you first before less important ones like articles.

Dislike

The search bar on the “Flavours” page has a text that doesn’t clear when it’s tapped. I was confused; I thought it was not responsive.

No direct root back to the home page. I had to tap the return button severally to get to the landing page.

The number of images is just overwhelming, a bit confusing. They have directly affected the loading time of some pages.

Some articles like ” Five Ways to Support Refugees Without Leaving Your Sofa” have too many links, I was confused about which is important, and which are not.
