- What are the top tenmost significant events or people that have had an impact of the United States or World as a whole?
Assignment:
- You will need to come up with a creative and descriptive way to present what you believe to be the top ten.
- You will need to rank the events from 1-10. 1 being the most important of all time, on down to 10.
- You will have the opportunity to have one partner.
- You will submit the people/events to me before you start for approval through itslearning.
Prohibited Events/People: (You cannot use the following events or people in your project)
- United States Presidents and First Ladies
- World War 1 or World War 2
- Corona Virus
Guidelines:
- Part I – Written(2 grades: #’s 1-5, #’s 6-10) – you will need to have a complete 1/2 page description summary of each event or person on your top ten list.
- Summaries must typed, 12 pt. font and single spaced. The summaries MUST DESCRIBE THE HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE, THE IMPACT AND YOUR OPINION OF THE EVENT OR PERSON. (Do not include things like- born in 1887 in Pennsylvania, unless that is somehow historically significant)
- Each summary must have ONE cited source.
- All summaries must be on separate sheets of paper and saved to one file submission. It must be your own workthat means that plagiarism will result in a zero for the ENTIRE project so do not copy and paste.
- Your summary submission must have a cover sheet with all group members name on it
- and a works cited page at the end (minimum 8 sources)
- Part II – Creative Project/Presentation– (1 grade) – you will need to come up with a creative way of using the top ten list to create a project and present your project to me. You will present this project to me over Zoom on your designated day/time if choose the live presentation or you can record it (w/your partner if you chose a partner) and send me the file to your presentation through itslearning.
Past projects included:
- Making a video recreating the events, a mega-photo collage, a newspaper, a photo collage, an elaborate timeline (it was about 30 feet long with pictures, explanations, quotes, etc.)
- A PowerPoint presentation for each summary with notes for your presentation
- The more creative and shown use of time and preparation, the better your grade. A poster with Pearl Harbor written on the top, with a stick figure man lying in the water will not get you a very good grade. It shows no preparation, no research, and lack of effort.
EVERYONE IN THE GROUP IS REPSONSIBLE FOR EVERYONE ELSE. IF ONE PERSON IN YOUR GROUP FAILS TO COVER THEIR PORTION OF THE ASSIGNMENT, ALL GROUP MEMBERS WILL BE RESPONSIBLE AND WILL RECEIVE THE SAME GRADE – NO EXCUSES. CHOOSE YOUR GROUP MEMBERS WISELY.
