Trackball games

It can be stressful to find the best arcade trackball games on the market, especially in today’s competitive gaming environment. I decided to list the top 5 arcade trackball games because today’s arcades no longer house the familiar games of yesteryear. This A-list has one game by genre / series-the one which I think is most worth it. So you won’t see the likes of Centipede, Five a Side Soccer or Sente Mini Golf

  1. Peter Jacobsen’s Golden Tee 3D Golf

While this might sound absurd, anyone who has ever had the chance to play arcade trackball games indeed won’t find it strange. Golden Tee Golf is more fun than the real thing and is the most enjoyable version of the game.

The courses cover a wide range of environments from the classical countryside to lovely beaches and a bowling alley. Coral Ridge, Pine Creek, Woodland Ridge, Red Sands, Echo Canyon Pearl Bay are among the courses available.

Fans of the arcade trackball games should expect many new features such as layered shadows, animated birds, and an original soundtrack. There is also a new artwork by Peter Jacobsen that has been digitally captured and seamlessly integrated into the game.

  1. Tehkan World Cup

Tehkan is one of the classic arcade trackball games from the late 90s. When you play in difficult mode, you have a perfect match; forget the right angle, and someone can shoot at your head.

In the third round, it is impossible to take a long shot, and you almost don’t let the ball go. The hardest thing is in the final, you slip up every minute on the pitch, and you have to score.

You can score a goal by dribbling past the opposing goalkeeper or running down the field (below) to the finish line. If you then spin and shoot and drive your shot lower, the ball may fall into the goalie’s vault and fly away, or fly higher if you drive it lower.

You have to keep possession of the ball to get to the next round. Keep in mind that you have to win, no penalties, and no ties either.

  1. Marble Madness

There are six levels, and you have to deal with enemies who want to repel you. You have an unlimited number of marbles, but you lose valuable seconds when you fall off the ledge or get caught by an enemy. Your goal is to roll the entire marble to the target within the allotted time. Otherwise, you are out.

The controls are surprisingly tight and responsive to input, which quite an achievement considering the arcade version uses a trackball. You speed up by pressing a button that can dodge enemies, and there is even an option where you can play sideways with the controller. The levels start simple enough, but things soon become a little too easy, like being sucked into a vacuum and trying to push the ball.

Marble Madness is a fantastic port of the classic arcade, but it’s surprising that there are no updates since this game has been around for five years. It controls well, and it will be interesting to see how far you can go, but once you’ve mastered the game, gaming becomes less appealing.

  1. Rampart

Rampart is a pretty cool arcade game that mixes shooting action with block-style puzzle gameplay. The single-player experience is pathetically anemic and leaves you slightly more challenging than the original arcade version of the game, but there’s a two-player racing mode that keeps you busy for a few hours or even a few days if you like.

You control a castle on land and have to place cannons around the castle to ward off hordes of incoming ships. The ships keep shooting in the walls of your castle.

Each battle lasts only a few seconds, and if you cannot enclose at least one of your castles with walls, the game is over. The build-up – up to each round – begins with you having limited time to mend the holes in the walls quickly. After that, you can start the fight all over again.

  1. Sega Sonic the Hedgehog

The game begins with Sonic being captured by Robotnik, but he quickly escapes his clutches and begins a long leap of freedom. The game is unusual in many ways, including the fact that it detaches itself entirely from Sonic’s console game and instead relies on the speed aspect of the character. Getting an online match can be a bit difficult as there don’t seem to be too many players on every stage.

There is only one encounter that could even qualify as a boss fight, which is essentially a fast steeplechase. A total of seven steps have to be completed, ranging from volcanic vaults through a series of underground tunnels to an underground tunnel system. Get out of crumbling platforms, push forward to avoid flowing lava, and track vehicles that threaten to impale and crush you.

Nevertheless, the high tempo and tightly thought-out levels are impressive. This is the only Sonic game to feature a rescue beam, with the ability to take damage by being hit or fall from the screen. Collecting the rings will restore your life meter a little, and earn you more bonuses.
