Chiropractic Credibility Concerns

Self-improvement is an essential way of improving every business aspect. Several chiropractors find it challenging to admit areas of weakness or a lack of skills they do not possess. They consider their level of success to that level as too much to confess lacking skills, especially to a patient. Before starting their practice, they have gone through college, a degree program, got their license and achieved lifelong goals. However, the majority of the chiropractors are not satisfied with their academic achievement thus far as they address more significant challenges of succeeding in practice. Despite the apparent difficulties, most chiropractors resent and refuse the idea of hiring an advisor, consultant, or coach. Self-disciplined chiropractors can overcome their shortcomings by themselves. For others like Dr, they have to spend time and money on self-improvement, which is essential in succeeding in the practice. Thus, for chiropractors like Dr, establishing stable systems or acquiring new specific skills would help him advance his working abilities.

Regardless of how he may perceive it, one crucial step for Dr to improve his business is to realize and accept that he cannot handle everything by himself. Fear of unknown could have influenced his decision to hide his past shortcomings from his attorney. However, if he had an assistant or a consultant, he would have managed to advance his education while handling patients. Also, the consultant would have advised him against hiding such crucial information from his attorney. Several chiropractors stagnate in their progress because of refusing to seek help. Additionally, focusing on specific areas of self-improvement is not only cost-effective, but it also helps a chiropractor overcome obstacles they encounter in practice. If Dr had adopted these measures, then the case would have had a different outcome, such as having a verdict without going to trial. However, he can still make positive changes not only to avoid future such cases but, most importantly, to improve his overall service delivery.

Pursuing life-long learning and confirming a commitment to it as a mandatory requirement is essential in assuring both private stakeholders and the public. Patients require an assurance that their physicians are up to date advancements in their areas of specialization. In essence, continuous self-improvement through professional development is not enough for chiropractors to stake their place in the ever-changing medicine field. They must display leadership qualities by conforming to standards requiring them to maintain and advance their know-how and skills. Additionally, chiropractors, like Dr, must offer their services using internationally recognized healthcare models consistently. In other words, Dr must embrace evidence-based practice by applying the best patient circumstances and values, clinical expertise, and scientific information. Chiropractors should avoid extravagant healthcare programs that promote patient dependency and frequently overstate the extent of suffering. In essence, Dr must exhibit integrity through a clear definition of those conditions he can handle effortlessly and improve on these areas.

By clearly outlining patient groups that Dr can be most effective, he must identify protocols for future referral. That helps to assure the patient of a referral to another healthcare facility or primary care if a treatment fails to work. If it were Dr who referred the patient to the second hospital, then the case result would have been different since there would have been handing documents outlining the patient’s progress before the second physician handled him. While Dr had his faults revealed in the case, the patient, too, was wrong in his approach. First, the patient only reported other symptoms long after starting the therapy. Also, as revealed by the video captured by the investigator, the patient was not honest and realistic in his accusation against Dr. Nevertheless, Dr should make the adjustments stated herein to improve his service delivery and avoid similar cases in the future that tarnish his reputation.
