Income inequality
Several approaches can be used to solve the problem of income inequality, though it may take a long time for the effects to be felt. America must accept that global wealth and income redistribution is taking place. The small percentage of people at the top must realize that people at the bottom will not agree to be on the receiving end for long. Some of the measures that the federal government has in place to cushion the poor include Medicaid, the use of food stamps (SNAP), the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), and temporary assistance for needy families (Greenlaw, Shapiro, & Taylor, 2018). Measures like stopping companies from outsourcing cannot work as it is the equivalent of punishing such companies for responding to global wealth redistribution. Similarly, protectionist trade policies cannot stop the redistribution of wealth.
