RESEARCH METHODOLOGIES
Critically evaluate a range of research methodologies and then develop a research plan which looks at the suitability of research methodologies when applied to a scenario. You will be presented with a data set. You are a member of a local medical board and you have been asked to create a document to be given to the Senior Management Team in preparation for an investigation into staff views within Higher Education. You are expected to; • Analyse the differences using the following data set “survey“ & code book “survey_codebook.pdf” • Examine and find any (Positive and Negative) Correlation within the data sets. • Find any relationship within the data sets. You need to provide examples of using the following to help interpret and analyse the data set provided: Average, Mean, Mode & Median, Confidence Intervals, Correlation, Variance, Covariance, Regression, Histograms and Scatterplots. You may use any suitable analysis tools to provide the necessary answers and information e.g. SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences), Excel Analysis ToolPak etc. Marks are awarded for highlighting interesting findings and being creative in your use of mathematical techniques. You should include graphical outputs, while critically evaluating your statistical results. On completion of this case study, you will achieve the following learning outcomes. 1. Select and justify appropriate analytical techniques to interpret quantitative data. CASE STUDY DATA SET ATTACHED IN THE UPLOAD. Exceptional Outcome 90-100% • Your work is presented to an exceptional standard, logically structured and contains exceptional levels of detail and critical analysis throughout • Your work is extremely well written and contains no grammatical, spelling, or formatting errors • You have provided accurate and creative range of examples of data analysis to an exceptional standard • Detailed, accurate and creative use of examples to interpret the data provided to an exceptional standard • You have researched and reviewed other sources related to the dataset topic and have used these as part of your critical analysis
