In this paper, a rule-based energy buffer strategy of energy router considering efficiency optimization is put forward. The contributions of this paper are as follows: 1) Integrating energy buffer into ER significantly benefits to providing ability such as loss compensation, energy balance and forecast error eliminating. Meanwhile, based on hybrid energy storage system and modular design, performance of energy buffering ability is highly improved. 2) A minimum loss model of energy buffer is constructed to ensure high efficiency operation, considering multiple energy storage units. 3) An efficient energy buffer strategy is proposed to solve the minimum loss problem in real-time scale, and multiple energy storage devices can be arranged to operate with high efficiency corporately and energy management of storage unit is well taken into consideration. Such strategy is also suitable for single energy storage system. 4) A novel power allocation strategy is proposed to better extend the lifetime of battery.
