Most businesses have a wide range of marketing tools at their own disposal; public relations, sales promotion, advertising and direct marketing. These marketing tools are usually meant to improve sales of the product and also maintain brand names. In this case, sales promotion and advertising will be highlighted for the discussion.

Advertising can be termed as a way of broadcasting information to numerous people, that’s meant to persuade the buyers to purchase a

certain product. Advertising encourages mass production and it’s capable of reaching a large number of people, it can be global or nationwide depending on the tools used for marketing. Advertising can be done by use of newspapers, radios, Televisions, or even use of social media such as Facebook and Instagram. When it comes to Advertising, the dealer or seller should include suggestion that would offer better solutions to the buyers’ problems, information included should be beneficial to the buyer. Advertising is a low-budget method of relaying information to numerous customers; this actually motivates buyers and brokers to add more products depending on the demand.

Sales promotion can be termed as all the tasks apart from advertising, public relation and direct marketing that are meant to persuade, motivate customer demand and improve the overall performance of dealers. (W.J Santon) Sale promotion is composed of wide range assembly of stimulant tools which are mostly short term solutions used to encourage fast purchase of a provided product. While advertising provides a reason to purchase, sales promotion basically offers an incentive in order to buy. Tools such as samples and coupons are usually applicable in sales promotion. Sales promotions are usually directed at final consumers in an aim to persuade, motivate and remind them to purchase their products. The main objectives that are usually specified include; increase sales of product, attract new customers, motivate consumers to buy more and to remain ahead of their competitors

I agree with the first post whereby companies with any social media platforms such as Facebook or LinkedIn, things are smooth in terms of the sales. The main issue is the consistency when it comes to the content flow. As you may know, people tend to drift away when they see the same content many times and jumping ship. This can be very tedious and overwhelming as far as being consistent. Use of Ad websites are very beneficial in that, any consumer clicking the ad website either purchasing a product or not, that’s increase of cash flow for the company based on how many consumers have accessed their ad websites.

I also concur with the second post, there’s a difference in use of Televisions and social media. With the televisions, you may view and stream advertisements but won’t be able to interact. In other words, you won’t purchase any product being advertised there. For you to purchase, it will require you to save their website or phone number and start looking for their platform. Whereas the social media is much easier in that, you will see the advertisement that’s in form of sponsored ad in which the advertisement will have a link attached to it, from there you place your order or purchase your product directly at the moment without having to go through any process or any channels to purchase your product
