marketing was a returning topic of discussion
During the placement, marketing was a returning topic of discussion. The progress made in my research was enough to determine the importance of a new website. It was discussed with my placement supervisor, and he confirmed this pre-mature recommendation. The website was outdated and did not hold enough information for each target group. Also, did GET-E not receive enough qualitative leads from the website. This recommendation was early on discussed, and I planned a meeting with the CEO. A topic list was set up, and a brainstorm followed. The outcome of this meeting would continue during my internship, where I was responsible and present for the meetings with companies that could improve our online representation. The contact between the website building companies and GET-E ran through me. It was an experience that allowed me to develop planning, organization skills, as well as communicative competences. It could be challenging to note the opinion of the individuals that needed to be considered in the essential design of the website. Meanwhile, providing my advice from a marketing perspective would be the cause of many meetings to follow. When all information was gathered, marketing companies that also created websites were approached. As the company did not have a marketing director at that time, and if one were hired, it would be a part-time freelancer. The choice was made to choose a company that could take upon marketing activities for GET-E. Maintaining contact between the marketing company and GET-E was my responsibility and communicating the ideas from both sides. Hence, many meetings were planned to share the ideas and communicate it in a manner that fits to the understanding on both sides. Eventually, a marketing company was chosen, and the plans were drawn to create the website.
