As the CEO of Ford, I would have made the necessary changes to the Pinto model before releasing it to the market. The making and generation of revenue are imperative in any business. However, people’s lives cannot be gauged in whatsoever value, even considering all expenses incurred by the individual. Morally, as the CEO, I would execute needful measures to ensure that utmost safety is guaranteed and delay the process of launching the product in the market. Such an undertaking with careful analysis would be beneficial to the company as this would ensure the prevention of lawsuits, compensation figures, among others. Moreover, the initiative would ensure that the lives of the clients and other people are protected, thus far-reaching benefits in the long run in confidence from the customers.

The Ford company’s undertaking to continue with the production of the Pinto model, albeit with reservations, was impactful to the various stakeholders involved. The most notable one is the customer base that was greatly affected by the direct loss of lives upon collisions and accidents. Nonetheless, through the various lawsuits, directives, and court injunctions to recall multiple models, the investors were affected negatively as regards the loss of revenue and profit. Furthermore, the image of the management at large was heavily tainted especially backed by the fact that they were in the know of the potential hazards but still chose to go along with the initiative and mass production. The United States government, as a stakeholder, also suffered loss and tainting of image form the international base at large in business and legal frameworks

Compliance with the law is an imperative undertaking in any production process. The exercising of ethical and social responsibility cannot be entirely overhauled by the safety standards as there may be existing loopholes. As a company, Ford was able to see such loopholes in the testing phase of its cars. It was thereby a needful undertaking to take the matter with the keen interest required since the moral standings need the utmost protection of life. The thin line drawn between the safety standards set should thereby not be exercised independently, and that the ethical or social responsibility should keenly come into play. This responsibility should eventually act as a seal to ensure that lives and other property of the clients and community are accorded utmost protection for the betterment of the ethical standings.

In this recall, there were complaints that the product exhibited risk of causing suffocation and that several fatalities to the infants had been reported.

As the CEO pf Delta Enterprise Corp, I would exercise the value system of responsibility and citizenship through the venture of prompt recalling of the products. Moreover, since there have been infant deaths reported, upon scrutiny, I would exercise care and responsibility by offering compensation to the affected families. This initiative will be imperative to initiate respect and fairness in the customer base, backed by the core value of trustworthiness.
